Most developers aren't ICO whitepaper writers. Most developers are just that developers so it would make sense to hire someone that writes whitepapers to write it. Because the developer is pending time writing code. But I understand check me out. I am real.
That's a standrad excuse that we heard every time someone cought altcoin project plagiarizing whitepaper or having stock image photos. Its always someone elses fault and not your own. But even if you indeed hired someone to write the whitepaper, its your responsibility to see if everything is legit.

By the way, I see on your website that you signed yourself under few articles. So how come are you capable of writing articles yet you had to hire someone to write whitepaper for you? Or you also didn't write those articles and someone else did it for you?

They really do have the responsibility to check the content of what they are publishing.
Plagiarism is still rampant with new projects. It is okay to copy someone's work, but not word for word.
Since you are not inventing the market, you can include your references where you got your statements.
This is why a lot of us already stop reading whitepapers because we know, most are just copy of the copy of the copy from someone else's copy.
They can still pursue the project but need to rectify what their documents if they are serious in expanding their business.
