Hi There Collector Community,

I reached out to the proprietor (TF) of Cryptoart.com and he shared a few minor points while letting me know that he's OK with me sharing the following -  this info is now 2 weeks or so old (Feb 22, 2022)...

- Tech development is happening (continuing)
- They have a business development partner helping move the ball down field
- They very much still need a community / social media manager, hence lack of updates here or elsewhere (besides his web site and perhaps at conferences for those luck enough to be world travelers these days)
- Once they have a community / social media manager (hired/paid position if I recall), they intend to setup a discord and make regular updates on social media
- The proprietor in particular is "very motivated" due to the complete lack of any physical art sales - no revenue
- Tech "roadmap" details are necessarily scarce, but may be filled in to some extent this month (March 2022)

Also, I want to post here that (AFAIK and barring any major changes from late 2021) the plan is still to carry forward with BOTH physical and NFT forms of future art ("Form Agnostic").  That is a great relief to the majority of us here, as consensus here seems to certainly favor the physical form, as am I.

I'll post more within this or another thread if he updates me again, when I can find a little time.  I did tell him that he should post more here to at least move his status off "newbie" lol - he's obviously a very busy person right now.

Please feel free to post thoughts and comments here.  I'm sure it would be in our (the collector communities') best interest to let Cryptoart.com know what we think - what we like, what we don't, and what we feel about the products both old and new - especially regarding "NFTization".

Finally, I definitely don't have time nor qualifications to consider the role of "community / social media manager" position; so if anyone has any suggestions, message Cryptoart.com with them or me and I'll relay offline.  That said I seem to be one of the few in this community sharing the progress of the project; it's usually because I email TF every now and then to bug him for new pieces lol. I think it would be great to have a visible and active contact; I do have a fear that because it's a paid position, if that person moves on, as they inevitably do when something is a "(paid) job" -the info stops.  I hope that whoever eventually fills that role is an actual active Cryptoart collector and enthusiast; that way at least the information and networking may continue despite any unforeseen circumstances.

Thanks All and Relic On!

@Cakeonit thanks for the great cryptoart update👌👍
nice to hear that there will be new arts in the future and that they will be made available as nft version.
i personally think the physical version is definitely better, but i would always want to buy an nft with the corresponding artwork to expand my own collection Wink
and what would actually be the tasks of a community/social media manager except that he would then lead a discord/telegram/twitter/instagram channel and would respond to the questions and comments from our great community here.
and that the user cryptoart.com here in the collectibles section should be a little more active, i also find as a very good idea
on the one hand he would improve his status here in the forum in the longterm and would be for our collectors here also a good contact person Smiley

No, it's been that way for some time. I think that probably is why he mentioned this above:

- The proprietor in particular is "very motivated" due to the complete lack of any physical art sales - no revenue

I only have a few pieces and don't know much about the whole deal/site/mintages etc, but I know cakeonit is the one person here I'd trust to know most about these pieces. Smiley

I would also to be curious to know how many (if known) pieces were pre-funded by the seller in the past, and how many are / have been sold unfunded etc etc...

Thanks!

Hi Folks,
I have been away for a while and a little distracted but I wanted to post the only info I have had relayed to me in the last few months.  I may have missed a message in my inbox as well but I did get an update WRT Cryptoart.com - I'll post in the next message below .................

message from the Proprietor follows exactly as written (I removed unrelated/irrelevant/personal/DOX content.:

"...... just getting my head above water.

I've partnered with a stellar developer to launch the NFTs, but things are obviously moving much slower than I anticipated.  The issue is that they are building a platform to accommodate other NFT clients, mostly in the gaming space.  I knew that going into it.  The plus side is that I've had a lot of leeway in terms of evolving the specs as we've built things out.  The negative is that it has delayed my timeline.  I anticipated hiring a community manager and someone to help with curation, but I've held off until I can see that the project is ready to launch.  I need to keep the monthly burn rate down while I'm not selling anything.

Here is where we are:  We have a working contract on the rinkeby testnet.  I've been able to make random NFTs and have them be picked up by opensea.  We're working on the front-end for people to claim their NFTs.  I was hoping to see that this week.    Cryptoart is a little different than most projects as existing collectors need to be able to claim a specific title/edition number by signing a contract from a pre-approved address.  Also, we are working on a solution that will allow collectors to convert NFTs into physical art pieces and physical art pieces into NFTs.  This involves locking up the NFT while it is in physical form.   The solution they have come up with involves merkel roots.

Here is my timeline - and some of this is unrelated to Cryptoart ...<<personal unrelated content>>>.... The functionally to claim the NFTs should be done by the time I get back.  However, I'm putting another set of eyes on this, because of the complexity and the importance of getting it done correctly.

Anyway, feel free to relay any of this to others.   I know this is taking forever and people are concerned, but no one has more to gain from getting the NFTs launched than me.  I'm in a similar situation as the collectors right now, as I'm waiting on the solutions provider.

Hope everything else is going well.
............."

I felt that putting the message on the forum board as quoted was OK given the statements therein.  I can say this -

I feel strongly and have a great deal of trust in him, he is a very honest and good man to work with and I am confident in his drive.  Like any project, or at least the majority that I have seen, things take longer and are more arduous than anticipated!

I look forward to the future and hopefully having time to get on the forum more, and spend money I don't have on collectibles lol

I just hope they actually put out some physical art - I know they were saying zero revenue but there was also zero new art for quite some time. Hard to sell something when there is nothing new being sold.

I could care less about the NFT's personally.

Hi Folks.  So it's been a long long time - I've had to move and then had a pretty major surgical procedure leaving me without my dominant (right) arm/hand since early January, so apologies for the absence.    Good new and bad.  The good news is that I sent Troy a note through his site and to his private email.  He did reply.  I said I was just checking in because it's been so long that I was wondering if he had given up hope with the NFT FOMO well behind us. I made a plea to him to sign in here, just to give us an update.  I'm disappointed because it doesn't appear as though it happened.  Please let me know if he has been active.  There is little point in me badgering because my suggestions carry little weight.  So I don't know if anything is or ever really did happen with the NFTs.  Frankly, I think it may be a case of so much the better.  There are less physical pieces in existence not because he stopped selling.  He said he was still working to move the project ahead, but I'll only believe it if I see it.  In crypto we all know that things like NFTs fade out and or die.  So I'll consider the cryptoart.com a dead end for new work or the NFT thing UFN.  If he writes me with news to the contrary, I'll share and let him know what I said.  I'll relay a message but neither myself or most of us should anticipate anything.  But like I said, that means that the physical art that exists is more rare.  I didn't intend to convert or burn.  Has anyone here done so?
