This is the true problem of nigeria which nobody wants to hear. It is a bitter truth. If these ideas are practicalized we will have a new Nigeria. What they always say is that our youths are lazy. From my discoveries, our youths only needs the aid, facilities and opportunities to perform. The reason why the white seems to be creative more than us is that they have all they support and facilities they need to carry out any operation in terms of time, money, support, instruments and lots more.
Their is *no MONEY for SUBSIDY* Nigeria is BROKE  *Should we go and Borrow 7.4trillion for PETROL again*? borrow to keep the People happy? Knowing quit well that these funds will be misappropriated by those charged with the responsibility (they will pay for what they did not buy).

Being a Farmer you know the CORRUPTION that is going on in Agiriculture......
Please advocate for a CHANGE

Is the *RIce, Palm Oil, Yam  and Beans  imported*  with Dollar ? ... Why is it so expensive ? Is FG selling Rice? Nooooooo it is the *same Masses selling expensive Food* and still Complaining .
Subsidy removal is not the problem. In 2012 Jonathan proposed it, in 2019 the Governors proposed it for Buhari but He turned it down.
Look at china. CHINA Closed their *Economy for over 30years* they were Suffering all because they wanted to grow their local Content, but Nigerians *only want IMPORTED Goods* and they will Blackmail their Government for it.

Now that your STATE GOVERNORS AND LOCAL GOVERMENT CHAIRMEN AND OTHER POLITICIANS earning More Revenue, Please MONITOR them and EXPOSE their GREED so that they Can Provide basic amenites for the Masses.

FG is Not Selling ANYTHING ....*The PEOPLE sells everything* .

CHANGE begins with you and me.

 As at Today .

*44 years ago, precisely on 25/07/1980 the exchange rate was:*
*$1 = 0.80k*

We are ready though to patronise our local products but sometime the prices are exorbitantoday, we import almost everything.
*We have been talking about these problems and more for ages.*
*It is not enough for us to complain about the exchange rate or point out what others are not doing or are failing to do. The key questions are:*

*1. What are we producing now?*

*2. What role are our so-called Leaders/ Politicians of today playing?*

An average Nigerian is poor and hungry. We are forever Shying away from responsibility whereas it is a stack reality and if we don't deal with it, it won't go away. In fact it will get worse*.

*To our dear Politicians, if you don't have the capacity to RESET Nigeria to what it was at least back in 1980 then please Stay in your house and don't waste our time. Our politicians should kill these habits of investing abroad. They should not steal our money and in a bid of hiding it take it away to other countries.

*Let everyone of us go back to farm no matter how small*
I think the area of specialization should be industrialization. That is location of industries.
Industrialization comes with so many benefits like:
Exportation
Job creation
Socio-economic development.
Knowing quit well that these industries will need good road, electricity, good water, housing and lots more. By that the host communities will be beneficiary to all these provisions.
The industries providing basic amenities in their respective localities as it is in Bonny port Harcourt, they have good roads, constant power supply and good drinking water provided by NLNG.
My eyes are dripping. 'Bitter truth'.

Nigeria has two Choices, it is either we Continue to Manage while FG Keeps paying SUBSIDY or *we face the PAIN now*. And we Build Infastructure that will WOO Investors, create employment and KILL Poverty.

TINUBU'S approach is Not Wrong. Their is *no MONEY for SUBSIDY* Nigeria is BROKE  *Should He go and Borrow 7.4trillion for PETROL again*? .... So What Should He Have done? .... Borrow to keep the People happy? Knowing quit well that these funds will be misappropriated by those charged with the responsibility (they will pay for what they did not buy).

Is the *RIce, Palm Oil, Yam  and Beans  imported*  with Dollar ? ... Why is it so expensive ? Is FG selling Rice? Nooooooo it is the *same Masses selling expensive Food* and still Complaining .

Removal of SUBSIDY is Not Soon and at once Noooooo. In 2012 Jonathan proposed it, in 2019 the Governors proposed it for Buhari but He turned it down.
Instead, PBAT will *Build Modern Infastructure*although nothings seems to be happening in that regards and Create employment for People and *wipe out HUNGER*

CHINA Closed their *Economy for over 30years* they were Suffering all because they wanted to grow their local Content, but Nigerians *only want IMPORTED Goods* and they will Blackmail their Government for it.

Please be informed that it is Not just the Removal of SUBSIDY from PETROL that increase Revenue but the *SUBSIDY removal from DOLLARS* that shoot up FG Revenue  .

Now that your STATE GOVERNORS AND LOCAL GOVERMENT CHAIRMEN AND OTHER POLITICIANS earning More Revenue, Please MONITOR them and EXPOSE their GREED so that they Can Provide basic amenites for the Masses.

When you TALK of CORRUPTION, the PEOPLE that *GO OUT TO VOTE are More CORRUPT* than their Leaders. They Collect Bribe in their Offices and the TRADERS are even *More CORRUPT than the Police* ... They Sell at ABNORMAL PROFITS keep the PROFITS in their accounts and Blame the FG for hardship.🙄

FG is Not Selling ANYTHING ....*The PEOPLE sells everything* .

*In case you don't know the root cause of our problems today, please take time out and read below:*

*44 years ago, precisely on 25/07/1980 the exchange rate was:*
*$1 = 0.80k*

*Are you Surprised?*

*Well, we were far more productive in 1980 than we are today.*

*In 1980 the key reasons for economic growth were as follows:*

*1. We were a net exporter of Refined Petroleum Products. Today we import all our Refined Petroleum Products.*

*2. We rode in locally assembled Cars, Buses and Trucks. Peugeot cars in Kaduna and Volkswagen Cars in Lagos.*

*3. Leyland produced  Trucks/buses in Ibadan and ANAMCO in Enugu also produced Buses and trucks.*

*4. Steyr in Bauchi produced our Agricultural tractors. And it was not just Assembly, we were producing many of the components:*

*5. Vono products in Lagos produced the Vehicle Seats.*

*6. Exide in Ibadan produced the batteries, not just for Nigeria, but for the entire West Africa.*

*7. IsoGlass and TSG in Ibadan produced the Windshields.*

*8. Ferrodo in Ibadan produced the brake pads and discs*

*9. Dunlop produced Tyres  in Lagos and Michelin Tyres were produced in Port Harcourt. And I mean tyres produced from Rubber plantations located in Ogun, Bendel and Rivers State.*

*10.  We were listening to Radio and watching Television sets assembled in Ibadan by Sanyo.*

*11. We were using Refrigerators, Freezers and Airconditioners produced by Thermocool and Debo.*

*12.  We were putting on Clothes produced from the UNTL Textile Mills in Kaduna and Chellarams in Lagos. They were Not from imported Cotton but from Cotton grown in Nigeria.*

*13. Our water was running through pipes produced by Kwalipipe in Kano and Duraplast in Lagos .*

*14. Our toilets were fitted with WC produced in Kano and Abeokuta.*

*15  We were Cooking with LPG Gas stored inside Gas Cylinders produced at the NGC Factory in Ibadan.*

*16. Our electricity was flowing through Cables produced by the Nigerian Wire and Cable, Ibadan; NOCACO in Kaduna and Kablemetal in Lagos and Port Harcourt.*

*17.  We had Bata and Lennards Stores producing the shoes we were putting on. The Shoes were not from imported leather, but from locally tanned leather in Kaduna*.

*18.  We were mainly flying our Airways, [the Nigeria Airways], to most places in the world. The Nigeria Airways was about the biggest in Africa at the time*.

*19. Most of the foods we ate were grown or produced in Nigeria*.

*We were producing all of the above and many more in 1980*

*Today, we import almost everything. Isn't that alarming?*

*There lies the source of the terrible exchange rate we are experiencing today and everyone reading this has a Critical role to play in reversing this very UGLY trend.*
An average Nigerian is poor and hungry.

OP if you know that this is copyright, please share the link.
However let's go the crux of the matter. For me, I am one person that is passionate about the growth of our country, but their are some actions the government have taken that are not in the interest of the citizens. First the issue of removing fuel subsidy, which we've discussed multiple times on different threads.  However because of the pain it has been inflicting on Nigerians, the topic has been a reoccurring decimal and I'm certain that these will not be the last thread on the fuel subsidy saga.

First of all if you want to see a government that is serious about delivering good governance you will see it from their political appointments, those of them in the position of leadership, if you check at this current administration you will see that all the juicy positions or ministerial positions that will drive development in the country, are all occupied by politicians and political loyalist not technocrats.

We are saying you don't remove fuel subsidy when you know you don't have functioning refineries, to refine your crude oil, even though you collect this crude oil for free locally.
Because if you refine it locally it is believed that Nigerians will buy it at a cheaper price.

The issue of electricity is one major issue, you want to build an industrial economy without electricity who does that?

As it stands now it is better you pay for subsidy and people buy fuel at a cheaper price, because it will also reducing the cost of transportation and production of goods and services, than for you to share this money to governors that will not do anything and you know the Nigerian system does not have a way of making governors accountable to their people.

So for me, fix the issue of the refineries and also electricity before you start building  skyscrapers.

Op you supposed to know say farming no go fit solve anything for this country, especially the talk of say individuals should start farming.one thing for this country wey una wey dey suggest  farming never still understand na besay even if you go into farming, first you go consider land, no be everybody get land to farm while some dey rent land to take farm. another thing na besay you no go fit just wake up one morning say you don turn farmer, that period wey presido buhari been make this advise, I see so many failed farm because them no get the proper skill and experience to mentain farm.  See ehn you go fit force the horse go river, but you no go fit force to drink water. No be everybody go farm, even the small time wey I been dey farm, I know wattin my eye see. The farm wey person don spend money and time put, na so aboki go carry their cow go chop the casava finish, and them know too well say na farm be that no be grass. This matter bring issues until some persons come dey even purposely poison the grass wey dey close to their farm.

So abeg make una stop this farm talk, everybody no go fit do farm, some kind time after you don spend for farm finish the only profit you dey get na be say, farm come be like investment for your future chopping.
