Can i use antminer control boards exchangeably?

My bitmain antminer came with an amlogic control board can i change it with BB control board? Because the aml doesnt have an sd card reader? Or can i just flash the amlogic using a micro flash drive( i have a flash drive that has a micro outlet that i can be plugged in the amlogic control board ) or can i swap it with a BB board ? I have interchanged some s19 controllers and I can tell you they don’t always work when they say they will.

and sometimes they work when they say they won’t.
