Gambling is not harmful just in the way the article is ascribing it to be in the society it's rather the abuse of gambling that's harmful just like any other substances or indulgence like pornography (leading to increase in masturbation by young people), frequent and  high consumption of alcohol causing liver and kidneys damage and other  violence vices. The reality is that the excessive use of anything is sure to result in a horrible and shocking consequence and gambling abuse isn't an exception. There are gamblers who are happily gambling living a normal useful life all because they choosed to gamble responsibility and for the fact that some sets of persons ignored the ethics to staying responsible doesn't actually make gambling an evil or bad activity to partake in.

Without a doubt, the gambling industry is getting huge. I think we should not just blame the gambling sites but social media platforms also has something to do with this.
Regarding those celebrities who are unaware that they are encouraging young people by sharing their bets on social media, that should be looked deeper by whoever is controlling the filters of the platforms where young people mostly spend their time. i.e. Facebook and Twitter. Then, these celebrities should also have their own discipline where they will limit where they should share their picks. It's nice to flex sometimes but if they are doing it on a daily basis then I don't think it's healthy.
Sports betting especially, there are a lot of kids now who are looking up to superstars in different games. i.e. Soccer, Basketball. We don't want to ruin their future by getting addicted to gambling instead of being addicted to the sport itself. That's the worst thing I could imagine happening to my kid.

It's not fair to blame the gambling industry it usually depends on the individual. Just as drugs are in vogue the world of online gambling will become even bigger. If the person can control himself and not abuse them then they will not have any effect on them. Basically it is just a small picture of the present society gambling addiction is more prevalent among young people once upon a time there was a trend of playing various rural sports including cricket and football and gambling through casinos but in the age of smartphone availability gambling through mobile phones has become a habit among the youth which is becoming alarming day by day. But if they are responsible without losing discipline then gambling will not be addictive.

I think casinos should have separate rooms or smoking areas with good ventilation.
Ordinary people should not suffer from smoke pollution

That is for offline casinos and the level of people following these casinos except in Las Vegas keeps decreasing with each passing day.I agree though that the smoke should not be felt by all players who happen to play near each other in the same slot machines, for this they should have an isolated ambient like you say that smokers should go and smoke there and if they start a play session they should smoke a cigarette first and then start this session, they cannot simply opt to light a cigarette in the middle of such session as other people may not like it.Smoke pollution is very dangerous even to people who have never smoked in their entire life, and that is why it is best to use online casinos as you are in the comfort of your home,in a great quite room enjoying your play, nothing beats this.

-snip-
Gambling is an addiction for many and those who get into this addiction cannot deal with the problem unless they seek professional help. It has been classified into the DSM and has an ICD code for diagnosis.

Those who are gambling somewhat understand this and to cope with it try their best to reduce their habits, but might not always work out. That "I am unbeatable" sort of mentality forces them to chase the loss while the "quick money attitude" make them attempt more. These mindset problems need to be tackled first, it is indeed a complex process and the pros should handle it instead of the notion "I am fine, leave me along with my games".

Alcohol consumption and cigarette smoking habits are more likely to be related to lifestyle, wealth and environment than to gambling. If a person has learned to be responsible about gambling, he or she is more likely to be responsible about other things in his or her life. If a person does not know how to limit himself in something, he will find problems anywhere - whether it is food, alcohol, smoking, sex, etc. Therefore, it is not right to blame gambling at all.
I'm not blaming everything on gambling. That's why the first thing I said is that he should be responsible, which is something he should possess to avoid addiction. What I want to say is that the scenario where he hasn't been into drinking and smoking can start and be learned, and it's possible that his initiation into these habits may be influenced because he is now exposed to the kind of environment that gambling establishments offer, and I'm referring to physical casinos. Of course, alcohol and smoking are often present in such environments. If he doesn't become responsible from the beginning due to gambling, can he also avoid the temptation of alcohol and smoking?

Australians have traditionally enjoyed gambling as a past time and form of pleasure. Australians may gamble conveniently from home thanks to the internet gaming sector.  Mate Casino is one such website https://casinomate3.com/ that is a prime example of superior support. Many Australian gamblers are increasingly choosing online gambling platforms as their preferred means of gaming as a result of the growing trend in technology.
All that might change and very fast too due to their government policies which might likely see the light of day. Hope you are following the news of some of those policies on the pipeline that if passed might bring some bottlenecks to gambling businesses.

Assuming the government put limitation on the amount of deposit to gambling websites, don't you think this might be a problem on the future? They are actually pondering on this and there are high chances of being approved.

I don't think gamblers and casino owners can really offer any resistance to some of these policies that can harm their businesses. We can only hope they relax some of these interventions

I guess covid really sparked the gambling itch for so many people
I totally agree. People were bored out of their minds while trapped inside their own homes. A situation like that was a godsend for online gambling casinos. Especially those who like to play dirty. But then again, most big corporations are evil. Not only gambling or tobacco. Even a sweet nostalgic brand as Nestle is quite evil, if you have been following their outrageous "business tactics". The fat cats are all extremely vile and evil people. Thats probably what it takes to become so big in the first place. A complete disregard for everyone else but yourself.
Majority yes, but there are some who still works at home. For those who are bored, don't forget that they also have other forms of entertainment not just playing a gambling. Covid might be a blessing in disguise not only for the casino but also to all online business. It's only sad that those who like to it play it dirty like you said can now benefit more on it. But, don't worry mate.

I believe that when you are not fair or you do something wrong to others, it will have a negative impact on you later on. Those evil and giant names can laugh now but let's see what they can end up in the future. Those who play it fairly, shouldn't get bothered but just continue it. They will soon excel.
