how to make a clickable link to another post

when i click on the highlighted text it brings me to a previous post i find this very usefull and would like to learn how to do it ( also bonus how to chose the image size because they are always too big and
it makes my proof picture posts very hard to read )
any help is welcome  . thanks in advance

There used to be some post on how to use many of such hyper links on the forum can't find them though. But here's all you need

This is not a highlighted text mate! There is actually a link embedded there! You can do this by using the "url" tag! Let me show you how!

If you write this below (everything inside code), then it will show as above,

Your previous image size was 496. I changed it to 200 you can see the difference.
Just change the size which is the number on the link.

And on creating clickable link?

You can use this.
The URL symbol is the one with a web at the top. The symbol below the underline symbol (U).

I think one of the most interesting things about SMF forums like this is BB codes and other elements and tags which are very very easy to work with if you have basic understanding of how HTML syntaxing actually works. You should just look up basically HTML syntaxing and how it works and then you should be able to do crazy stuff with the syntaxes you have here.

I think the only difference between this forum syntax and that of HTML is square brackets here against the regular angled brackets in HTML.

You did it in the wrong way; it should be like this below if you successfully embed the link properly.

And this is not the test field; you can use the preview button before you post to see how your post looks.

Also, check the format of how others do it properly by quoting their post.

I would not assume it is as easy as that just because I have learnt how to do it as an experienced forum user. I would say you should take some stepdown and give it some logical thoughts when trying it again. It actually seem simple but will be complicated to you as a newbie if you don't concentrate and not giving it some thoughts.

But being crystal clear, you can not go more than the brief and shortcut which Hatchy has explained it with the formats below

Ok, I think this image will explain better.


That arrow shows exactly the function that allows you to put URL or link that will direct your reader to the thread or any place you want them to read from. If you click that function then you will add the link to that thread you are making reference to.
Example;

Just copy the text (with URL tag) what everything is doing and you're good. You can edit the post later too to correct it for testing purposes.

It’s is surely useful as it not only makes a more attractive or best practice for writing, it highlights the link in a decent and unambiguous way.

One means to learn most of these coding systems to writing or presentation has always been quoting a post of interest and see how its raw codes or characters as defined.

When you don’t put the pictures in proportions, it might end up trashing its presentation as, it’s not in proper size. Best thing to do is to adjust until it fits.

This is also called an embedded link, while as you have called it a clickable link is an informal way of identifying it because virtually every link is clickable.

While this makes you to have a nice presentation on your post when you inserted the link being embedded, once can include it along a post as it's readable along the sentence as well as being clickable.

I don't know if you finally learned how to do it but haven't had the time to update this thread with it yet as I can't find your comment to that effect. Anyway, here was a simple method I used to learn it myself years back. All I did was to copy a user's post I saw it on like I was quoting it. Place it on my note pad (some times, I copied and pasted here directly), then insert my own link I was to use beneath it and then edit from there. Afterwards, I previewed to check how it turned out. I passed it on first try. You may want to try my method.
