 It was confirmed by the CEO of Telegram, Pavel Durov O'zbekisondagi that since Thursday to date about 13.8 million users recently joined the app and about 11.6m of them are from Nigeria, and from my understanding it is based on the recent ongoing mining activities on telegram that's made lots of Nigerians to flod the app. Recently Notcoin which is a new Cryptocurrency from Ton blockchain and was mined through telegram recently launched and lots of people who took it seriously benefited from it. Now those who doubted Notcoin where shocked at the price of it's launch ($0.0144) with a market cap of about $766million.

 This has triggered those who missed out on Notcoin to now turn to other coins mined on telegram and thus it lead to the massive inflow of users stated above. Millions of Nigerians are now mining several coins on telegram, one thing about Nigerians is that they'll always seize an opportunity especially when they've got prove that they could benefit from a project and the launch of Notcoin was an eye-opener for lots of people.

It doesn't seem outrageous, rather it looks real because even for my phone self I don dey see numbers wey no dey telegram before inside am which means dem dey sign up rush rush for the purpose most likely because of airdrops and mining as notcoin don successfully open up the space. Me I hear about the Notcoin mining but I no carry am serious, I come Dey surprise as I see say plenty people cash out for the mining, recently I just see say almost everybody wey I get for my contact don register for telegram, I just Dey receive notification as people wey Dey my contact Dey register, I just Dey shake head I know say na mining everybody wan Dey do. I like my naija people, any opportunity wey dem get, dem Dey make sure say dem utilize am well, Dey no Dey lose guard. Am just learning about this notcoin mining and would have loved to partake if it ain't too late as I can see that there are other ways telegram as a social media is improving and besides the telegram wallet that was sometime reported to be a hub for hackers and scammers  alike, veering into the path of cryptocurrency and even mining is one huge boost to the micro economy of an individual and in turn whether the government likes it or not, such boost has helped reduce unemployment and thus there would be a betterment of the macro economy in scope.

I so much agree with you on this one. For someone like me, I prefer to verify any new crypto mining pages I found in the Telegram platform to be sure whether it's worth the time, efforts and dedication. Mining in general is all about patience and dedication and anyone who cannot manage their patience will not be able to mine profitably. So, aside from trying to always verify what mining have an effective result, I try to also stay dedicated to the tasks. But it is a great milestones for Telegram to have enjoyed the initiative of such mining on their platforms. It is also a strategy that have increased their followership and users over these couple of days even in Nigeria.

People are joining, not just one person using different phone numbers. To be sincerely many people are joking telegram to do the tap business, because these things have been hails for my places, everywhere in the country people are talking about this tap business and other airdrops, although you are right by saying people should be very careful due to security.

Even if scammers do not package their scam strategy in the method of fake airdrops and mining on Telegram, the new influx of people into the app has increased the number of people that they can reach out to and try to scam through other methods. You have to be careful and maintain the same composure on the Telegram app against strangers and strange groups as you would be watchful against other individuals who would contact you through other social media websites.

After NOT, there was always going to be an influx of new users as well as new projects for these newly onboarded users to get started with. That's where projects like Hamster and Tapswap comes in.
