Are We Need Satoshi?

Many people are afraid if Satoshi shows up today, he will be sold his (million bitcoin, there is no evidence yet) he has.
So, what is he waiting for not having sold it on ATH before?.

Honestly, we really don't know if Satoshi this day is still alive and one thing for sure that they really care about the price of Bitcoin. He is a very smart person and I know that if he puts his Bitcoin in one wallet, it will get a negative impact to Bitcoin's price. So it's wise if he spread his Bitcoin to many wallets. We don't know if Satoshi have sold his Bitcoin at ATH because for me that's not what he aiming for. And if ever he do, he only sold some of Bitcoin because selling all their Bitcoin at one time will make Bitcoin die.

Whales and institutions are the cause of the impulsive movement of prices, maybe one of those whales was Satoshi — we never know.

We are always confident that no one can kill bitcoin and bitcoin will exist forever, but why are you pessimistic if Satoshi sells all his bitcoin? That sounds too pessimistic and unreasonable. Even if he sells those 1 million bitcoins, I don't think that will cause bitcoin to die, the bitcoin supply is 21 million bitcoins, not just 1 or 2 million bitcoins. There would definitely be a huge panic if he woke up and sold all his bitcoins but that wouldn't kill bitcoin, I bet you that. Bitcoin does not depend on anyone, not even Satoshi or any other shark in the market.

I understand the fear of some people of the possibility of Satoshi's emergence. It's probably not about Satoshi tearing down the blockchain or changing the source code. It's more selfish than that. I guess the main reason for their fear is the possibility of Satoshi selling his/her/their coins. And they only fear such possibility because Satoshi has more than a million, that's worth tens of billions of USD, and that it certainly means that their small amounts of Bitcoin will surely lose a lot of value.

In other words, their fear is that their investment would lose rather than gain. That's basically there is to it.

If they are afraid that Satoshi selling bitcoin will reduce the value of bitcoin then that is the opposite of what they say every day. I see many people always claiming that they will sell all assets or buy as much as possible. if bitcoin drops to $5k or $1k, then they will buy regardless. They see this as an opportunity to buy bitcoin because they missed that opportunity before. Those claims were all over social media and even on our forums during last year's bear season if you were paying attention. So if what you say is true then aren't they contradicting their previous statements?

There are a couple of possibilities.

1. They're probably just lying. They simply want to hype Bitcoin, emphasize its limited supply, cause a FOMO, urge people to buy, and so on simply because they want the price to rise and make money out of it. So, don't believe them because if Bitcoin drops to $5,000 tomorrow, many of these same people will panic sell instead of buy.

2. They're not necessarily contradicting themselves. Their selfish fears are completely reasonable. If Satoshi appeared and moved his/her/their coins presumably for liquidation, it's probably just right that they sell immediately and buy back at a price they consider the bottom.

It's not that we don't need him, we owe a lot to him but this is the worst time for him to come out the mainstream media will go frenzy they will go after him whenever he goes and it will harm his family and privacy, he instantly becomes the target.

That's right, because the main idea of bitcoin was that blockchain technology was spreading like a virus (in a good way) and increasing the number of its users. It is true that bitcoin has existed and developed for many years without Satoshi so it is not wrong to say that we no longer need him. But if he comes back, will we still not welcome and need him? I agree with you, the possibility of Satoshi coming back to us is very low because he will face more dangers than he will receive great welcomes or benefits.  but if bitcoin is recognized by the government and becomes legal worldwide, and then he shows up, I think that's not too surprising. maybe he's decided never to show up again or maybe he's waiting for the right moment to show up.  the moment all governments accept bitcoin and people will freely use bitcoin is probably the perfect time for him to appear.  everything is possible, nothing is impossible.

The disappearance of Satoshi Nakamoto, in my opinion, helps Bitcoin development more smoothly. Now 14 years after the Bitcoin Genesis Block, Bitcoin is no longer a baby and it can continue its life, survive without Satoshi Nakamoto. Bitcoin network is decentralized, it has open source code and there are massive developer communities to support and continue developments for Bitcoin. In 2023, there are more Bitcoin developers than in 2008, 2009 or 2010 so why do we have to need Satoshi Nakamoto in 2023 and in future?

Even if you say that and others may share the sentiment including me, you and everyone that shared that sentiment can't still help with the fact that there are curious people that wants to uncover the identity behind the legendary Satoshi Nakamoto, as much as we are tired of them and their antics of how to find the identity we just have to bear with their actions as long as it doesn't hurt bitcoin or they hurt any people with their investigation then good for them. Regarding the legal reasons for the uncovering of the identity, I think that even if we stop the online sleuths, there's probably an agency in the government that's doing the same investigation because they want to charge Satoshi or have Satoshi face criminal charges. Those people that claim Satoshi is actually a good thing because that would mean that investigations will be slowed down because they have to confirm this claims and imagine the idea that with all this charlatan claiming to be the founder, Satoshi revealed himself and people would probably dismiss him as someone just claiming to be one.
