Kids are getting really desperate these days. I really don't know if I will attribute it to peer pressure or moral decadence in family value. Just today, I read that some kids fake-kidnapped themselves so that they can extort money for their parents in bitcoins.
One of the boys in collaboration with him friend, fake him own Kidnap and asked the father to send $20,000 ransom money to his bitcoin wallet address. Well, the summary is that no money was sent. -

These boys should have learned a skill and taken advantage of it to be paid in bitcoin rather they wanted to take the path of least resistance.
I hate that Bitcoin is mentioned in this kind of cases but then what can we do.
Is this peer pressure or just moral decadence in family value?
If it is peer pressure it is the negative type of peer pressure because the positive type of peer pressure is what has made us to be here on this forum instead of engaging in one form of internet fraud. Most of us here were introduced by friends - positive peer pressure.
While on the other hand, the moral decadence in family value is because our parents work so hard chasing after money to give us good lives that they lose touch with whatever is going on in their kids lives. It is so difficult these days to keep track of what our kids are up. Or maybe they just don't care any more once they are able to provide us the basic necessity of lives- food, clothing, and shelter.
From the story what do you think - is it (negative) peer pressure or just moral decadence in family value?
