I was able to make some inquiry as to why, we buy fuel at exorbitant amount and still yet the product is not available to buy.

There has been some lingering issue between the independent marketers, NNPC, NUPENG AND PENGASSAN.

on the side of government it is said that, government makes this product available on a subsidized rate, that is government, takes our crude oil overseas, refines it and sell it at a given price, which is officially 140 naira per litre to independent product marketers which in turn sell it at 150 to retailers, and retailers sell it 165 and. (official government rate).

Now here is the intriguing part

On a normal scenario, NNPC upon bringing this refined product to Nigeria, they are supposed to take it to the government owned depot, so that the government scheduled price will be implemented. But rather, NNPC takes this product to private depot and sell it at 180 naira, those private depot sell this product at 190 naira And above to retailers, that is why some retailers are selling around 200 and something Naira and above.

As at today, there is a memo by NNPC, that is going round, that the price of the product has increased to 185, it then means some of us will continue to buy this product at 200 and something Naira and above.

News like this is always the other if the day by our leaders but the truth remain that the NNPC is part of government and has presidential control if the president is not in connection with this kind of act I don't think it can happen all of this are trick use to estort the citizens and subject them inorder to made their way on the particular amount they desire to embezzled.

What then will be the case after being hard that they have decentralized the from the NNPC as private oil marketers can buy and sell on their rate which has even work out well as different suppliers are using the issue of subsidy to influence the cost of fuel, I see all this as politics many who find their way play to the detriment of the poor citizens, all one need is to stand out from certain financial barrier because things like this will always take place until curruption is totally reduce to certain percentage lower the what it's today.
Which was why I was vehemently against the Idea to let NNCP stand on its own as limited liability company, breaking them out from ministry of petroleum. All of these measures are to stifle the economy for the average Nigerian and set the stage ready for those in the upper echelon to continue to loot the system, the queues are back again, the price of PMS is 1k in some areas which is bad for an oil producing state like Nigeria.
Funny enough, I recently saw a video where a lady was complaining about this same fuel situation in 1994, that's to tell you that for over 30 years, we've not been able to sort out ourselves.

Everybody just Dey talk their own for the country wey I no sure say things go better like before again, the way person Dey live for this country now sef sometimes you go fit pray say make the world finish make everybody go die, since when I grow up I never see anything for Naija wey the price come down, every time na high e Dey go, I have beginning to ask, na this country we always said we are proud of ? Na this kind country we Dey sing for when we Dey always sing the National Anthem? To be honest our leaders don make our country looks like a country where the citizens are always seen it as a bad country.

Now I understand those people wey if them get chance enter another country them will go register to be the citizen of the country without not thinking of coming back to Nigeria, to be honest I don’t blame because instead of be suffering like this you should have peace of mind in another country, we are talking about the price of fuel and I’m seeing some people are mentioning 400 and some amount, fuel don enter 1000 naira for my side since last week.

Tinubu been dey complain say the change in Naira design and fuel scarcity na plan for them to sabotage e election bid to be our president so, abeg make I ask, who be minister of petroleum for Nigeria? Shey na Buhari, shey Buhari still dey APC? Is he trying to say that Buhari who is a member of his party is not in support of his bid to be president. There has been a lot of fuel crisis in this present administration, there is no assurance that if we go another four years with the same political party that has gotten us to this situation, the country will be completely finished.
Where we de go for the country? Everything just de turn upside down and the government folding their hands watching things getting fold up. Nigeria is a finishes nation and everyone is after their own pocket, what they can actually achieve in the system and this is really out of line for those that becomes promising and focused on winning and generating profits. Omo leave Nigeria problem, the whole system don scatter with corruption. Every individual in power is tasty to have more and leading to exist of greed.

This na very old post, but e still accurate AF.
Only some days now, and we have witnessed a rise in the price of PMS. The funny thing and why many Nigerians notice this is because we were still on the issue of price of commodities rising and praying that the FCCPC ensure price accuracy and while many marketers were being sceptical on adjusting to the new prices, PMS marketers decide to increase price of PMS, thus making every person pay extra.
NNPC has said there's still product availability but we can see locally that it isn't the reality of things.
Something needs to be done because we aren't seeing any reasonable improvement and while the president gives a speech and cites everything as being okay, the poor man gets poorer and standard of living is only much affordable by the rich and powerful.
