What should Nigerian’s do to hold corruption politicians accountable?

The way I am seeing from some top corrupt politicians with dramas they have with EFCC thee days we can't hold them accountable instead they will pay crowd to protest against us again or to fight back. The Youth that supposedly fight them would be used to fight use back. When I see the current politicians list from EFCC I wept. If I see the list I will drop it in this comment. They are about 58 Ex-governors. Me I don talk am before the best way to deal with this people na di way Ghana do am so dat we go rebuild our nation. We think say Tinubu go do something good nai come worst pass all. This is the list though the list very very long and this is not all the corrupt leaders but only for the Ex-governors. And di place wey I see di news na Facebook.

I no dey say you no correct oo but i go say sometimes the way dem dey published list for media no be wetin dey happen most time we supposed go source news for this news producer or even go buy news paper so that we go knw say na real instead of to dey follow wetin media dey talk, me and u sabi say our country sabi paint sometin red or black immediately dem know say that people no be am you go see how dem go add onions and pepper and salt just to please them while dem dey carry de news fly.

This na high profile personalities in the country politics and if anyone wa to tarnish their names in the social media platforms with corruption tag when they are innocent of the crime then they would pay the law enforcement agencies to hunt the person down. And this information I don see am for Channels TV before I see am for social media so I no think say na fake information. Please remember say Yahaya Bello stole NGN80.2 billions naira, yet Kogi youths were protesting that he is innocent of the allegations and EFCC has no right to arrest him and that was has been going on for all this while because he has paid that crowd to protest against his arrest because it is a public disgrace. Yes bloggers use to spice their news in the social media but it is true information unless the politicians discard the information again.

Most of those names in fact 98% of them i don see them on television channels with the amounts wey dem steal. And as far as I know Nigerian politicians, everyone wey dey that list e dey involved. Because of corruption Nigeria leaders w don want to leave power. And because of corruption cost of living e dey very high. Some people go took say how corruption takes make things high my brother, the money wey dem supposed used am create industries are siphon to a personal pockets. Money has been send to agriculture for massive farming in the country but the money dey enter voicemail. And another problem we have na the army and the police because when di youth got angry and protest for di good of all di citizens, them go come out and kill di innocent people.

That Nigerian’s can actually hold corruption politicians accountable by not taking bribe.if only we can walk with our conscience and think more of how we can make the country better. Most of the things we are experiencing would not be happening today. It is clearly seen that we forget our sufferings easily when ever it comes to the general elections. We go all out for this same people whose children are not even in the country. We do all sort’s of things for them to get into that position. After with everything we do for them, they would still forget about the masses and do what is in their mind. I sincerely think holding corrupt politicians is not the first step. The first step starts with us as Nigerians.to do the right things!!

I would agree with you that we can begin the change with ourselves but then corruption can not be solved easily the way you say it especially not in aa country with our kind of population. The population is just too much to begin such things and with the way some people have suffered you don’t expect them to be presented with a life saving opportunity and not take it.

Talking about voting and elections i don’t know what else you expect people to do, should they rather not vote and sit at home during elections because the people contesting are corrupt leaders. People go out to vote with the aim of electing a candidate that will bring change to the country but it just unfortunate that all the candidates aspiring for president are selfish no one likes to suffer one day we will elect that candidate that will change everything and make us smile again.

you know what we the citizens are the costs of our own problems, i still dey talk am say we go see bad thing then say na good thing. Then the good thing go come turn bad thing why because money dey involve, you see this matter way you talk about so na real matter but sometimes I go dey think am if why we dey do all this things na for us to see a better leader or waiting. Mostly when it comes to elections period every body go turn into something else by then you go see some people dey fight for who no go get their time later, for me we're the corruption ourselves not the leaders because we made them get there. Without our helps they can't get there by their selves and we all know the good one's but some of the citizens will rather vote for the wrong one's why, because they've promised them all kinds of things and most of them needs the help but not knowing they're doing the wrong thing ever.

It is human nature to do the wrong thing, you don't teach a child to lie but you have to teach them to tell the truth, and that crimes have punishments to go with them, our leaders do whatever they want with no fear of being held accountable for their wrong doings because the System won't probe and prosecute them for it.
If a corrupt governor leaves office and is investigated by the right authorities and held accountable for his/her crimes, others will learn from it, after all 'experience is the best teacher but it doesn't have to be your experience'
This though can only be done if the legal authorities are in themselves free from crime, corruption, and that isn't something I see happening anytime soon.

I disagree, human nature was not to do wrong things, we're born with no sense of good and bad. Is the family being the first training ground for a child. So if the child turn out to be bad blame the parents, and the society.  Nigeria as a statewas raised by corrupt nation,  colonial masters was corrupt and abusive. This make the system corrupt beyond repair, is difficult to stop corrupt in Nigeria, because is already in our system,  that's why the politicians will steal our treasury and work freely on the street without persecution. And the people still support such devilish leaders in Nigeria today, infact they have more supporters than the good ones. The society and parents has failed Nigeria.

OP, the truth of the matter be say, we can never be free from corruption in its entirety because of the true nature of human beings. Even God we create us, come.give us warning on top things wey we no suppose do, we they gree follow am talk more of human being like us. But does that mean that we should be leaving in a country engrossed with massive practice of corruption? Absolutely no. Even the develop countries still have corruption cases underway everyday but what they have been able to do differently is to tame the corruption within the anals of their nations through proper implementation of rule of law and strict adherence to the punishments attached to the sins or crimes committed by the statesmen. If only we can practice the same thing in Nigeria consistently, by strictly implementing rule of law and punishment to all and sundry irrespective of their positions in power or political affiliations, it will bring about a change to the way people celebrate corruption in the country.
