I have had my transfer blocked by the “fraud” department at Electrum and support@compliance-electrum.org are telling me that the block is temporary. Does anybody have any ideas in this. Have I been scammed again ?

To add to this; I’ve been communicating with ICCA (International Crypto Crime Agency) who have told me they have recovered funds which were blacklisted, but using my name to try to trade them unsuccessfully.

The transfer was from their (ICCA) servers to my Electrum address. So…..have I become a victim of yet another elaborate scam to get me to pay fees to “Electrum compliance” for a fictitious recovery transaction ?

It's definitely not. Electrum does not offer any kind of support outside of their official Github repository. Electrum has also no way of accessing your funds or blocking them. No one has a way of blocking your transfers

I'm not sure I understand though. Did you originally download Electrum from somewhere outside of Electrum.org? Or you do have the legitimate Electrum wallet, but you just received an email saying your funds are blocked? And if you do have the real version, I would imagine you would have tried to spend your funds to see if they're indeed blocked as they claim?

It's not possible that email looks like a scam email; it's either they are trying to scam you or you are already a victim of a scam that's trying to use that means to convince you that your money is frozen so that you can pay more money.

Blocking your money means censorship, or on the other hand, they perceive the electrum to be like a centralised system where your funds can be frozen at any time and access denied by the owner of the fund, which the electrum is not.

The scam could have been more convincing if they used a centralised service in trying to deceive you.

If you have your money with the people or you use their fake wallet which is not Electrum but calling it Electrum to their victims, that means you have been scammed.

If you use a legit Electrum downloaded from https://electrum.org and you did not send them any money or coins, that means you have not been scammed yet.

Avoid them because they are scammers.

Quick life tip: Usually unless it’s the ACTUAL official website domain, then it’s a scam.

Binance.com is real? Then you would probably receive an email from support@binance.com, legal@binance.com, etc

And the fake ones? legal@binance-tech.com, help@legal-dept-binance.org etc

And even then spoofing real looking emails is quite trivial task.

-

So electrums website is electrum.org… does that one you receive look real?

How did you make this transaction? Electrum does not send emails, maybe you installed malware.

Electrum does not have any 'fraud' department, it is an open source and self custodial wallet. You have to provide more details about what the problem is, if you sent funds and it was blocked, then you are using a cloned site, and if such a thing didn't happen, then why this topic?
Does anybody have any ideas in this. Have I been scammed again ?
Were you scammed before? Provide more details about everything you are saying.

You will have to go back a few steps and walk us through the whole situation.

When and how did you buy bitcoin and when did you send them to electrum? How did you download electrum and more importantly, how did you get the message of blocked transaction?
Do you have a txid?

Without the exact info no one can help you figure out what is going wrong.

The domains icca.agency and compliance-electrum.org were both registered by the same person within a few days of each other at the same registrar. It is a scam. If your Bitcoin transaction was already confirmed on the blockchain there isn’t any agency that can help you recover those funds. Electrum doesn’t have a fraud department and can’t block someone from using Bitcoin.

You can ignore these scam messages from ICCA and the fake Electrum compliance department. Uninstall any malicious wallet software if this is where this phishing attempt is originating from.
