If one set an amount they want to win and stop playing then make sure to stand by his/her words then they can maintain their stand when they get to their desired amount  however, it is always hard for most gamblers to maintain their words when they have reached their desired amount of winning as majority always want to continue especially when more winnings are coming and when they start losing they will also want to get back at that previous amount they won but they still keep losing.

No... That's not it. A gambler gets his motivation from the fact that he wagers, loses money and makes cumulative gain from a one-time win; so, the ideology behind it is that he loses bit by bit and when the winning shows up, it supersedes the total loss... Very many times, that's never the case as they could be unlucky never to get a win at all.
