It turns out that two of the major witnesses, police people, were not in the locations that they said they were, under oath. They could not have seen what they saw.

Is this actually some new claim?  It sounds like some theory that floated around around the time of the trial (a year ago) that never went anywhere and is now being recycled for click bait to sell vitamin supplements and infowars t shirts to idiots.  Are you going to post a video next about breaking news!  Dominion Voting Machines changed a bunch of votes from Trump to Biden in 2020?

Quote
there is no evidence of a planned insurrection

There is in the real world (they had a trial and everything):

Quote
-- "The answer must be to refuse to accept, acknowledge, respect, or obey any of these imposters or their pretend legislation ... and get your gear squared away and ready to fight." - Nov. 7, 2020 text message from Rhodes to a group of Oath Keepers.
-- "Trump has one last chance, right now, to stand. But he will need us and our rifles too. But will he FINALLY act? Only if WE act and call him to lead us." - Nov. 7, 2020 in a text message from Rhodes to a group of Oath Keepers.
-- "I'm gonna go on a killing spree." "Pelosi first." - Nov. 3, 2020 consecutive text messages from Kelly Meggs in a family chat.
-- "If you fail to do your duty, you will leave We the People no choice but to walk in the founders footsteps, by declaring the regime illegitimate, incapable of representing us, destructive of the just ends of government - to secure our liberty. And, like the founding generation, we will take to arms in defense of our God-given liberty." - December 2020 open letter posted online from Rhodes to then-President Trump.
-- "Proud boys scuffled with cops and drove them inside to hide. Breached the doors. One guy made it all the way to the house floor, another to Pelosi's office. A good time. We need to do this at the local level. Lets storm the capitol in Ohio." - Jan. 7, 2021 Facebook message from Thomas Caldwell to Donovan Crowl, an Oath Keeper charged in a separate criminal case.
-- "If we'd had guns I guarantee we would have killed 100 politicians. They ran off and were spirited away through their underground tunnels like the rats they were." - private message sent by Thomas Caldwell on Jan. 6, 2021 to someone named Jonathan.
-- "Show the world who the traitors are, and then use the (Insurrection Act) to drop the hammer on them. And all of us veterans who swore that oath, until you're age 65, you can be called up as the militia to support and defend the constitution ... He needs to know from you, that you are with him. That if he does not do it now, while he is commander in chief, we are going to have to do it ourselves later, in a much more desperate, much more bloody war. Let's get it on now, while he is still the commander in chief." - Rhodes in a speech prior to the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol.
-- "We will have many balls in the air. I have been so busy on back-channel groups trying to advise the president." - Stewart Rhodes in a December 2020 text discussing logistics ahead of Jan. 6 with a group of Oath Keepers.
-- "Push, push, push! Get in there. They can't hold us." - Oath Keepers defendant Jessica Watkins, speaking to other members of the group inside the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021 as they breached a police line protecting the U.S. Senate chamber.
-- "I don't believe in anything. I'm just here for the violence," - writing on a patch that defendant Kelly Meggs wore on his shirt on the day of the Jan. 6, 2021 attack.
-- "It begins for real Jan 5 and 6 on Washington D.C. when we mobilize in the streets. Let them try to certify some crud on capitol hill with a million or more patriots in the streets. This kettle is set to boil." - defendant Thomas Caldwell, in a Facebook message on Jan. 1, 2021.
-- "We aren’t getting through this without a civil war. Too late for that. Prepare your mind, body, spirit," Stewart Rhodes, in a Nov. 5, 2020 text to a group of Oath Keepers.

Do you hope they let this guy out?

Quote
Kenneth Bonawitz
57 years old
Pompano Beach, Florida
On Jan. 6, 2021, Kenneth Bonawitz assaulted multiple police officers on Capitol grounds, according to court documents. Shortly after 2:30 pm that day, he was one of the first rioters to push through a line of officers on the West Front of the building. Bonawitz wore an eight-inch hunting knife in a nylon sheath attached to his hip. According to the FBI, he threw himself over two law enforcements officials, tackling them to the ground, and injuring one officer’s neck and shoulder. An MPD sergeant then saw and removed his knife and escorted him back into the crowd. But, court documents allege, Bonawitz kept coming back and engaging officers, wrapping his arms around one and inserting his forearm under her face shield, and briefly lifting her off the ground. He also swung and knocked another officer, hitting him near his face and causing him to fall. He hit a fifth officer in his abdomen. He continued to assault additional officers in the altercation.

Would you consider this guy a political prisoner and victim of the Biden regime?

Quote
Riley D. Kasper
23 years old
Green Bay, Wisconsin
Prosecutors allege that Riley Kasper sprayed an aerosol, which they allege was pepper spray, toward law enforcement officers at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. A confidential source sent the FBI screenshots from Kasper’s Facebook on Jan. 7, 2021, in which Kasper allegedly captioned a photo: “Trump rally Washington, D.C.!” According to court documents, a judge later authorized a search warrant to Facebook for Kasper’s account, which yielded several private messages. Prosecutors say Kasper wrote: “I pepper sprayed 3 cops so bad they got undressed and went home” and also “there is definitely something satisfying about pepper spraying cops in riot gear and watching them run from you like a b****.” Kasper’s Facebook also allegedly included a video that shows him wearing a gray patterned jacket, a camouflage face mask and head covering, and a tan camouflage backpack. These clothes are consistent, the FBI says, with YouTube videos and body-worn camera footage from the pepper spray incident. Prosecutors say they compared images from YouTube to booking photos from Kasper’s previous arrests, as well as to his driver’s license photo. The confidential source and a family member of Kasper’s each positively identified him in photos from the Capitol. Kasper was arrested in March of 2022.

How about this guy?

Quote
Aiden Henry Bilyard
19 years old
Cary, North Carolina
Court documents say that Aiden Bilyard helped break one of the windows through which many people, including Bilyard, breached the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. Bilyard can allegedly be seen in multiple images from that day — some of them show a young man with long, dirty-blond hair, wearing a black jacket over a gray hoodie that appears to read “Harvard.” Later, Bilyard was dubbed #HarvardSweats by the online group Sedition Hunters, which sought to identify some of the people who breached the Capitol that day. According to the charging documents, Bilyard was among the throng of rioters clutching a large gold canister of what is believed to be “bear spray,” which he sprayed at a group of police officers trying to secure the building. An officer who was on the receiving end of that spray found himself incapacitated by it. Later in the afternoon, Bilyard is allegedly seen in video footage egging on another rioter who's trying to break a window of the Capitol. According to court documents, Bilyard was handed a bat, shattered the window and entered a Senate room through the broken window.

Hundreds more where that came from.  Cool field trip.

The point is, the Jan 6 disturbing of the peace was NOT a planned thing. Nor was it asked for by Trump or the militias across the US. If it happened at all, it was spontaneous, and FBI promoted... so that there would be an excuse for the thing that has happened... prosecutions. The whole thing was done by the Deep State intentionally to make Trump look bad. Why would they want to make Trump look bad? Because THEY, the Deep State, are evil, and Trump is bringing them down.

I was talking about the real world.  I understand in BADeckerville J6 wasn't planned and the people that beat up the cops and stormed the capital hoping to stop the winner of the 2020 election from taking office are victims, and also it was all planned by ANTIFA and the FBI (logic works differently in BADeckerville).   But in the real world things are different.

Court Sentences Two Oath Keepers Leaders on Seditious Conspiracy and Other Charges Related to U.S. Capitol Breach

Quote
Elmer Stewart Rhodes III, 58, of Granbury, Texas, the founder and leader of the Oath Keepers, and Kelly Meggs, 54, of Dunnellon, Florida, the leader of the Florida chapter of the organization, were sentenced today for seditious conspiracy and other charges related to the breach of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. Their actions disrupted a joint session of the U.S. Congress that was in the process of ascertaining and counting the electoral votes related to the presidential election.

Rhodes was sentenced to 18 years in prison followed by three years of supervised release. His is the longest sentence, to date, related to the assault on law enforcement and the U.S. Capitol Building.

Meggs was sentenced to 12 years in prison followed by three years of supervised release.

“Today’s sentences reflect the grave threat the actions of these defendants posed to our democratic institutions,” said Attorney General Merrick B. Garland. “The United States proved at trial that the Oath Keepers plotted for months to violently disrupt the peaceful transfer of power from one administration to the next. The Justice Department will continue to do everything in our power to hold accountable those criminally responsible for the January 6th attack on our democracy.”

“Today’s sentencings reflect the FBI’s commitment to do our part to hold accountable individuals who committed criminal acts on January 6, 2021, as well as those who plotted to interfere with the lawful transfer of power,” said FBI Director Christopher Wray. “We will continue to work with our partners to bring to justice those who violated our laws in connection with the siege on the U.S. Capitol.”

“There have been few instances in our nation’s history when our fellow citizens have engaged in a seditious conspiracy — a conspiracy to use force to oppose the functioning of our government,” said U.S. Attorney Matthew M. Graves for the District of Columbia. “More people were convicted of seditious conspiracy in connection with the siege of the Capitol on January 6, 2021, than any other criminal event since the statute was enacted during the Civil War. Today’s sentencing affirms the rule of law and imposes substantial consequences on Stewart Rhodes and Kelly Meggs who, together, conspired to violently attack our government and our democracy.”

Rhodes and Meggs were found guilty on Nov. 29, 2022, following an eight-week trial and three days of deliberations. In addition to the seditious conspiracy charge, Rhodes was convicted of obstruction of an official proceeding and tampering with documents and proceedings. Meggs was also found guilty of conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, obstruction of an official proceeding, conspiracy to prevent an officer from discharging duties, and tampering with documents or proceedings.

According to the government’s evidence, the Oath Keepers are a large but loosely organized collection of individuals, some of whom are associated with militias. Following the Nov. 3, 2020, presidential election, Rhodes, Meggs, and others began plotting to oppose, by force, the lawful transfer of presidential power. Beginning in late December 2020, via encrypted and private communications applications, Rhodes, Meggs, and others coordinated and planned to travel to Washington, D.C., on or around Jan. 6, 2021, the date of the certification of the electoral college vote.

The defendants also, collectively, employed a variety of manners and means, including: organizing into teams that were prepared and willing to use force and to transport firearms and ammunition into Washington, D.C.; recruiting members and affiliates; organizing trainings to teach and learn paramilitary combat tactics; bringing and contributing paramilitary gear, weapons, and supplies – including knives, batons, camouflaged combat uniforms, tactical vests with plates, helmets, eye protection, and radio equipment – to the Capitol grounds; breaching and attempting to take control of the Capitol grounds and building on Jan. 6, 2021, in an effort to prevent, hinder and delay the certification of the electoral college vote; using force against law enforcement officers while inside the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021; continuing to plot, after Jan. 6, 2021, to oppose by force the lawful transfer of presidential power, and using websites, social media, text messaging and encrypted messaging applications to communicate with each other and others.

On Jan. 6, 2021, a large crowd began to gather outside the Capitol perimeter as the Joint Session of Congress got under way at 1 p.m. Crowd members eventually forced their way through, up, and over U.S. Capitol Police barricades and advanced to the building’s exterior façade. Shortly after 2 p.m., crowd members forced entry into the Capitol by breaking windows, ramming open doors, and assaulting Capitol police and other law enforcement officers. At about this time, according to the government’s evidence, Rhodes entered the restricted area of the Capitol grounds and directed his followers to meet him at the Capitol.

At approximately 2:30 p.m., according to the government’s evidence, Meggs, along with other Oath Keepers and affiliates – many wearing paramilitary clothing and patches with the Oath Keepers name, logo, and insignia – marched in a “stack” formation up the east steps of the Capitol, joined a mob, and made their way into the Capitol. Rhodes remained outside, coordinating activities.

While certain Oath Keepers members and affiliates breached the Capitol grounds and building, others remained stationed just outside of the city in quick reaction force (QRF) teams. According to the government’s evidence, the QRF teams were prepared to rapidly transport firearms and other weapons into Washington, D.C., in support of operations aimed at using force to stop the lawful transfer of presidential power.

Rhodes was arrested on Jan. 13, 2022, in Texas. Meggs was arrested on Feb. 17, 2021, in Florida.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia and the Justice Department’s National Security and Criminal Divisions are prosecuting the case. Valuable assistance was provided by numerous U.S. Attorneys’ Offices throughout the country.

The case is being investigated by the FBI Washington Field Office with valuable assistance provided by numerous FBI offices throughout the country, including the Dallas, Cincinnati, Tampa, Jacksonville, and Richmond Field Offices.

In the 28 months since Jan. 6, 2021, more than 1,000 individuals have been arrested in nearly all 50 states for crimes related to the breach of the U.S. Capitol, including more than 320 individuals charged with assaulting or impeding law enforcement. The investigation remains ongoing.

^^^ Don't be so silly. Sorry. I wasn't trying to take your freedom away from you

Never heard of the 1st Amendment and freedom of speech? Look all over the Internet and see that there are hundreds of thousands of free speech talk just like the things that you mentioned above. There wasn't any insurrection. The only reason why the Jan 6 convicted people were convicted is that they don't know American law, and they hired or accepted attorneys to REPRESENT them rather than standing present in court.

Well, that's that. A few people became rowdy Jan 6. But mostly it was because they were suggestively instigated by the FBI and others (like Epps) to be that way. There was no insurrection. And since the courts pushed for conviction when they knew this, the court people should be accused and taken to court. Trump will probably do a little along those lines.

This whole thing against the Jan 6 people was highly illegal. To show what I mean, Simone Gold had written permission to stand on the steps and give a speech. That's all she did. Yet she spent 2 months in jail when all they had to do was look at her permission paperwork. The whole Jan 6 thing was an unjustified political persecution through the unconscionable use of government power.

Sure seems like it was a planned thing...You really think the FBI would try and help Trump overthrow the government?  And even if one of the agencies that Trump controlled tried to help him overthrow the government, how does that excuse the hundreds of people that assaulted cops and attacked the capital?

Quote
Jessica Marie Watkins
38 years old
Champaign County, Ohio
Federal prosecutors say Jessica Watkins, a U.S. Army veteran, was among the "most extreme insurgents" who took part in the attack on the Capitol attack. According to court documents, Watkins, who is a member of the Ohio State Regular Militia and the Oath Keepers, sent text messages to a number of individuals in November who were interested in joining the militia. Watkins allegedly told them the militia had a weeklong "Basic Training class coming up in the beginning of January," and told one recruit, "I need you fighting fit by innaugeration [sic]." She reportedly told another individual, "It's a military style basic, here in Ohio with a Marine Drill Sergeant running it. An hour north of Columbus Ohio." In the days leading up to the Capitol attack, Watkins was allegedly in regular communication with other militia members. "We plan on going to DC on the 6th," Watkins said in a Dec. 29 text to another individual also facing conspiracy charges. "Trump wants all able bodied Patriots to come." On Jan. 6, 2021, prosecutors say, Watkins joined other individuals affiliated with the Oath Keepers and "moved in an organized and practiced fashion up the steps" of the Capitol. Federal investigators claim that once Watkins entered the Capitol building, she and others also facing conspiracy charges communicated on Zello, a walkie-talkie-like app, using a channel named "Stop the Steal J6." At one point, Watkins allegedly said, "We have a good group. We have about 30-40 of us. We are sticking together and sticking to the plan." When FBI searched Watkins' home they found personal protection equipment and communication devices, a mini drone, pepper spray, cellphones, numerous firearms, homemade weapons and instructions for making explosives. In court filings arguing for her release, Watkins' lawyer said she attended the Jan. 6 rally "to provide security to the speakers at the rally, to provide escort for the legislators and others to march to the Capitol as directed by the then President," and added that Watkins was given a VIP pass that day.

Elmer Stewart Rhodes III, who goes by his middle name, is a former Army paratrooper, a graduate of Yale Law School and the founder and leader of the far-right, anti-government group the Oath Keepers. Federal prosecutors allege that Rhodes and other members of the Oath Keepers committed seditious conspiracy by plotting to “oppose by force the lawful transfer of presidential power,” which culminated in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol. That conspiracy, the indictment against Rhodes states, began shortly after the November 2020 presidential election. On Nov. 7, 2020, Rhodes allegedly sent a message to other Oath Keepers in which he said, “We must now do what the people of Serbia did when [President Slobodan] Milosevic stole their election - Refuse to accept it and march en-mass [sic] to the nation’s Capitol.” Later, Rhodes allegedly messaged other Oath Keepers that if Joe Biden assumed office, “it will be a bloody and desperate fight. We are going to have a fight. It can’t be avoided.” Throughout this period, the Justice Department alleges, members of the Oath Keepers communicated over encrypted channels and conducted training in techniques such as “unconventional warfare.” In the lead-up to Jan. 6, 2021, Rhodes allegedly purchased thousands of dollars' worth of firearms and other military-style equipment, such as night-vision goggles and ammunition, and the Oath Keepers discussed plans to have an armed “quick reaction force” available just outside Washington, D.C., prepared to bring “heavy weapons” to the city at a moment’s notice. On the day of the Capitol attack, Rhodes allegedly entered restricted Capitol grounds and was in communication with members of the Oath Keepers who formed military-style stack formations as they breached the Capitol building. There is no evidence that Rhodes entered the building himself. The Justice Department alleges that later that evening, Rhodes had dinner with members of the Oath Keepers “to celebrate their attack on the Capitol and discuss next steps.” In the days after, Rhodes allegedly purchased thousands of dollars of additional weapons and other military-style equipment and encouraged people to form militias to oppose the Biden administration. Rhodes has publicly denied any wrongdoing and defended members of the group who breached the Capitol building. “I don't think they did anything wrong. I don't think they committed any crimes," Rhodes said in July. “Do I think it was stupid? Yeah. Because it left our enemies a chance to demonize and persecute them. But I do not disavow them.” Rhodes was arrested on Jan. 13, 2022.

Jeffrey Scott Brown
54 years old
Irvine, California
Jeffrey Scott Brown was allegedly part of a group chat on the encrypted messaging service Telegram that the FBI obtained in the aftermath of Jan. 6, 2021. The chat's "about" section reportedly read: “This group will serve as the Comms for able bodied individuals that are going to DC on Jan 6. Many of us have not met before and we are all ready and willing to fight. We will come together for this moment that we are called upon.” According to court documents, Brown posted a selfie to the group on Jan. 5, 2021, with the caption "Boarding LAX," and it was later confirmed he took a flight from Los Angeles that day to Washington, D.C. In security camera footage from a tunnel leading into the U.S. Capitol, Brown can allegedly be seen spraying what the FBI believes to be pepper spray at police officers. In a YouTube video, Brown appears inside the tunnel pushing against officers trying to protect the door to the Capitol's Lower West Terrace, court documents indicate. In the video, one officer has his gas mask ripped off by another person, and blood can be seen in his mouth, according to court documents.

Ralph Joseph Celentano III
54 years old
Broad Channel, New York
Ralph Joseph Celentano III was identified by law enforcement after his image appeared on an FBI "Be On The Lookout" page following the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol, court documents indicate. After that photograph was posted, someone contacted the FBI to provide them with another photograph of Celentano, which was posted to social media by the Jenny Albert Sea Turtle Foundation. The FBI was then able to find witnesses who know Celentano and could identify him in photographs from the insurrection, according to court documents. Additionally, data from EZ Pass and the New York License Plate Reader capture a car owned by a person law enforcement believes to be Celentano's significant other leaving New York early the morning of Jan. 6 and returning the next day. Prosecutors say police body camera footage from the riot depicts Celentano "engaging in several physical altercations" with officers. Additionally, other open source video allegedly shows Celentano pushing a police officer over a ledge on the West Terrace of the Capitol. The officer, an Iraq War veteran, suffered minor injuries, but reportedly later stated that he was frightened and thought at the time: "I didn't survive a war to go out like this.”

David Lee Judd
35 years old
Carrollton, Texas
David Lee Judd was allegedly seen on video as part of a group of rioters who tried to push their way through a tunnel that led to entry to the U.S. Capitol. This tunnel was the site of a violent and prolonged confrontation between rioters and police officers guarding the building. Judd appears in footage several times inside and outside the tunnel wearing a red "Make America Great Again" hat, and he can be seen pushing against the line of officers, while they yell, "ready, heave," according to court documents. Judd was also allegedly with a group who passed stolen riot shields back to other people in the mob, yelling, "shield wall" while pumping his fist. In another piece of tape from surveillance footage, he is seen walking into the tunnel, lighting an object on fire and throwing it at officers -- others in the crowd can be heard saying it's a firecracker. Court papers say that a witness who knows him showed law enforcement an advertisement that Judd posted on social media asking for a ride to the rally, saying, "If anyone has an extra spot for the ride there and a place to stay, I HAVE MY LICENSE TO CARRY A FIREARM....Let's fight to Save this Country and Support the greatest President."

What is happening today makes J6 look like a field trip. I really hope they let those J6 folks out of prison and I think people who have been pushing the J6 was the worst thing ever narrative need to take a long look at themselves and what they’re trying to encourage for the future of our country.

Do you hope they let this guy out?

Sure seems like it was a planned thing...You really think the FBI would try and help Trump overthrow the government?  And even if one of the agencies that Trump controlled tried to help him overthrow the government, how does that excuse the hundreds of people that assaulted cops and attacked the capital?

~

No, the FBI wasn't ordered to help Trump. Do you really think that the Jan 6 prisoners are helping Trump? Well, maybe they are in a kinda backwards way.

The FBI was sent in to cause the Jan 6 problem, so that people could be arrested and imprisoned as they have been, so that Trump's name could be dragged through the mud. It backfired. Trump has become more popular than ever, partly because people recognize the sham trial that was held against the Jan 6 people.

If that's the case, I hope whoever had the responsibility of leading whichever branch of government the FBI falls under in BADeckerville is held accountable.  Sounds like they must be either a weak or corrupt leader to allow this to happen - probably both.

Any idea who that might be?

The general in the army doesn't order every soldier. There are many different levels of command. Often the general doesn't even know what his various commanding officers are commanding.

In addition, if the private doesn't listen to or know what the general wants done, how can he do it but by accident? In addition, if he thinks that the general ordered something because he was told such by a leading commander, what should he do? Does he do what is best?

You keep on trying to confuse the issue, and failing at it. In fact, seems that you have been failing at it for years here in Bitcointalk.

Well things are confusing in BADeckerville.

Trump told the crowd at his rally that they had to go march down to the capital and fight like hell or they wouldn't have a country anymore.

And also that the reason that they marched down to the capital and fought like hell wasn't because of what Trump said, it was because the FBI - which Trump had full authority over for the previous 4 years - tricked them into attacking hundreds of cops with bear spray, flag poles, fire extinguishers and stuff they stole from the cops like riot shields, batons and barricades.

And that the FBI, which Trump had authority over, was "tricking" the MAGA mob to fight like hell to hurt Trump - even though Trump also wanted them to fight like hell and thought it was a "beautiful day".

Simple straight forward question for you:  Do any of these people (just random cases I picked, there are hundreds more) deserve to be in prison for what they did on J6:

The point is, the Jan 6 disturbing of the peace was NOT a planned thing. Nor was it asked for by Trump or the militias across the US. If it happened at all, it was spontaneous, and FBI promoted...

In security camera footage from a tunnel leading into the U.S. Capitol, Brown can allegedly be seen spraying what the FBI believes to be pepper spray at police officers.

^^^ You still don't get it. People are free to talk in the US. What counts is harm or damage.

If somebody does damage, make him pay for the damage. Don't simply lump a bunch of people together and send them to prison for a couple of years. Make the repayment fit the crime.

There are a lot of others who didn't do harm or damage who are imprisoned with the group. And if they were questioned about violent talk, they would say they were only venting. 1st Amendment lets them. Rhodes was among this group. Neither he nor his people had anything like insurrection in mind.

However, it's their fault. If they had stood unrepresented, and used their rights to confront their accuser, the accuser wouldn't have anything provable. And since the accuser on the indictment was probably the government, couldn't even get on the stand to be questioned. Case dismissed.

So, it was their fault, even though the whole Jan 6 stuffed was messed up.

The government isn't lumping a bunch of people together and sending them to prison.  Did you really think they were just treating everyone as if they committed the same crime?

If the prosecution is able to secure a conviction (either by trial or guilty plea), a judge decides the sentence based on the crimes they were convicted of, any criminal history, their behavior throughout the process, etc.  In other words, they make the repayment fit the crime.

So far there have been about 1400 arrests and 927 of them have plead guilty, been found guilty by trial, and sentenced.

Almost 40% of the 927 received zero prison time.

Of the other 60% that have been sentenced to prison, the median sentence has been 180 days (that means 50% of the sentences have been less than 180 days).

You gotta stop falling for the right wing media rage bait.

Quite interesting now you mention it, because in all occasions I have seen some right wing media or host to talk about the people who got detained for what transpired in January 6th, they always make it sound as it was indeed a group of people who got together charged and imprisoned for the same crimes and are being held in a cell with no trial or due process.
Very ironic, while in the United States people has the right to be served a fair trial, the countries which Donald Trump admires for their dictators, like North Korea, China and Russia, those who are caught commiting and crime or being suspects of a crime are many times not even entitled to a fair trial and defend themselves in front a group of their peers.
People living in democracy have no idea how lucky they are, until they find themselves in a position like we (people in the third world) are...

You and Vod seem to have missed that I said, "If somebody does damage, make him pay for the damage." If the crimes were there, make them pay for the crime, not for some greatly exaggerated crime.

Do you think Trump should pardon this guy, who was recorded by dozens of people committing each of the crimes he was convicted of:

Quote
WASHINGTON – A North Carolina man was sentenced today for assaulting law enforcement officers with a dangerous weapon – chemical spray – during the breach of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. His actions and the actions of others disrupted a joint session of the U.S. Congress convened to ascertain and count the electoral votes related to the 2020 presidential election.

Aiden Henry Bilyard, 20, of Cary, North Carolina, was sentenced to 40 months in prison for assaulting MPD officers using a dangerous weapon. Bilyard pleaded guilty on October 20, 2022, in the District of Columbia. In addition to the prison term, U.S. District Court Judge Reggie B. Walton ordered 36 months of supervised release, and $3,500 in restitution.

According to court documents, on Jan. 6, 2021, at approximately 2:35 p.m., Bilyard was among a crowd of rioters illegally gathered in the Upper West Plaza of the Capitol grounds. He carried a gold-colored canister of “home defense pepper gel.” Bilyard pointed the nozzle of the canister at officers who were attempting to prevent the mob from proceeding further towards the Capitol Building. He then discharged the chemical irritant towards the group of officers. Immediately after he sprayed the irritant, Bilyard and other rioters overwhelmed the police line, causing the officers to retreat through a stairwell to the Lower West Terrace.

Bilyard also went to the Lower West Terrace. At approximately 4:10 p.m., he was in a group of rioters massed in front of a glass window to the Capitol Building. While there, he encouraged an individual who was striking the window with what a metal tomahawk. Bilyard was handed a bat, which he used to shatter the lower glass portion of the window. He then turned to face the crowd and clapped and shouted in an act of encouragement for people to start entering the building. Bilyard also entered the Capitol by crawling through the window that he had shattered.
