What’s the best way to hit a block?

I have been trying to hit a block for 4 months now on Ckpool with a range of 100Th to 4PH. What  recommendations do you have because I haven’t been able to hit a block.

Advice would be awesome. I want to hit a solo block today. Thanks

There are no tricks or best setups to hit a block in solo mining it is based on luck because of the high difficulty level.

The only solution if you want to hit a block is to add more ASIC units and increase your hash rate.

if you run 4ph non stop  it is about

0.00272 btc a day
0.02720 btc in 10 days
0.27200 btc in 100 days
2.72000 btc in 1000 days still less than a block

3.25000 btc in 1242 days is a block if we stay at this difficulty


you mined 160 days

so 1242/160  = 7.77 to 1 shot that you hit the block in the time you mined.  this assumes unchanging difficulty reality is difficulty usually goes up.

so the odds get higher.

What kind of block do you want to hit? Is it metal, wood or cotton? You didn't give us enough data.

If you are going to hit a metal block, do use some protective gear. Definitely don't punch or kick it without some solid gloves or boots. It will hurt like hell.

If you are strong enough wood might not hurt you.

If you are a newbie, you can go hit cotton blocks as long as you want.

In order to "Hit a block" in one day, you'd need around 5EH/s hash rate and even then, there's no guarantee.

Its random, just random.

Having a high hash rate just increases the odds that your equipment will discover the appropriate hash in less time and that is the only way to improve odds of finding a block.

There are no guarantees, no way to "MAKE" it happen.

If it were that easy, everyone would be finding blocks every second of every day, then the whole system would simply stop working and BTC would be worthless.

Aside from the obvious "luck" there exist things that would increase your chances of actually wining a block.


1- Make sure the gear and software you using are capable of finding blocks:

Many people overlook this simple fact, but not every miner out there is technically capable of solving a block, hashing is one thing, and hitting a block is another, there is a good reason some pools restrict certain mining gears from mining to their pool, we have seen one of the largest pools miss a dozen blocks because of a bug in their system, there probably some miners out there that have not proven themselves capable of solving blocks on the mainnet.


2- Your connectivity needs to be pretty good:

Generating a hash that is a valid block by consensus, doesn't mean you are guaranteed to win a block, if the latency between your gear and the mining pool/node you use to solo mine is bad, you may find a valid a block but fail to submit it in time, and thus, you would lose the block and probably won't even notice.

There is nothing more you can do to increase your chances, except to add more hashrate.
