Strategies such as inverse martingale can indeed provide an opportunity to maximize profits in the short term, especially if you have luck by winning several games or spins in a row, but still in gambling, especially slots there is nothing that can guarantee a continuous to win, slot games only rely on luck so that when your luck runs out then I am sure the game will suck up your money,  So it is important for us not to play by relying on emotions so that we can take a rational decision to know when to stop when winning or losing, while poker which actually relies on skill or expertise, is more inclined to be able to win in a row if indeed the opponent we are facing does not have better skills and mentality than us.
Again, every martingale method, including inverse has proven not to work. It's a gambler's fallacy to even say that they work short time. Reason for winning at the start, is because you have higher probability to win, but that probability only exists if you risk more then you already invested. So it doesn't really make sense. It's like saying that it's profitable to bet dice when odds are 0.1. Technically your changes to win are higher, but money you are risking doesn't make it worth it.
Also, this topic wasn't about martingale, but psychological attitude towards poker. When you are playing house games, only psychological edge you need is sticking to your original budget.
