Are people still read "news"? for trader it's needed, but I'm not a trader. There have been too much news created nowadays, Forbes created 14 news in a day, do people read all the news? remember it's just Forbes, what about Bloomberg, Cointelegraph, Coinmarketcap etc, will people spend the whole day just to read these news? Most medias don't care with quality anymore, they're only fight to post as fast as possible that's why they use AI for their content and AI for the graphic design.

A Redditor shared his observation on Forbes news. He noticed that most Bitcoin or crypto topics have the phrase "suddenly braced for" in them. While I glanced through the screenshot, It appeared to me that large publishing platforms like Forbes use AI to generate headlines, and the editors don't bother about crosschecking the topics for repetitions. The phrase "suddenly braced for" is too many not to be recognized by an editor or a proofreader. Do you think Forbes News is losing its quality or being careless about what they publish? https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1ex7pem/thought_forbes_was_somewhat_reputable_how_much/#lightboxWow, now that is funny. The Babylon bee will get a hold of that one and start making the “suddenly braced for” memes and that will be golden. Honestly I think every major media outlet is pretty much all rubbish. You can’t find any good source of truth these days everyone is bought out and to me it’s funny that most all people just go to social media to see the “news” nowadays which is not a great source for news either because you never know what you can trust with what’s bullshit and what’s not.

Great discovery and share. Whether or not they are using AI for the headline generation, it is clear they're using this terminology to drive FUD into the cryptocurrency market. Best to be ignored.

Isn't it just a buzzword? Idk for your average guy but for anyone who regularly reads articles, it probably evokes some sense/sort of urgency (which is what the terms are used for) hence the immediate reaction of wanting to read the article. It's been pretty much the same thing done by journalists so it's no surprise it appeared multiple times. I Wouldn't be surprised even if they had a top 10 list of words they have to use for each month lol.
It being AI generated can be argued, but it being made by one or not doesn't seem like anything since the articles always seem to be of low quality in the first place. Titles like these tend to exaggerate after all to bait people into reading them.

Forbes’ main contributor on crypto topics is Billy Bambrough. He is a terrible writer who writes clickbait junk. Forbes does not have the highest standards for writers in their contributor program. They prioritize getting traffic over having high-quality writing.
One of Bambrough’s recent articles had the following headline: Forget The Fed—China Could Be About To Drop A $420 Billion Bitcoin And Crypto Price Bombshell The $420 billion number is completely made up out of thin air. I guess Billy thought he would get more clicks by putting the number 420 in a headline.
Bambrough has also been pushing the fake rumor that Apple is going to add crypto to Apple Wallet. Anything written by Forbes contributors should be seen as completely unreliable and not to be taken seriously.

Regardless of this specific case, if the search is correct, and “braced for” appears in the majority of articles generated by an AI, the use of AIs in companies is becoming more and more widespread. Let's look at this statistic: Report: 42% of Internet Traffic is Generated by BotsAnd it will only continue to grow. Plus we're going to get AI shove down our throats: on our mobile, every time we open a browser, in Office. Companies are going to use what gives them leverage, and what allows them to reduce human capital, even if it shows some silly mistakes today, but AI is constantly learning and improving.

I don't read news on big mainstream news platforms like Forbes. Almost all mainstream news platforms are pretty biased when it comes to Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general. However, this Redditor discovered something funny. He should receive a Reddit award or something. Either Forbes is using AI to create headlines, or they are just reposting articles from somewhere else. Most of the headlines that I see on this screenshot are just clickbait trash about Bitcoin/crypto suffering a price crash and losing billions of market capitalization. Forbes was supposed to be a trustworthy source of information and yet they have fallen into the clickbait BS part of "sensational journalism".

AFAIK, Anyone can write article and publish it under Forbes name for a fee. It's called "Forbes Technology Council" and for an annual fee you get membership that allows you to publish any crap and scam you want under Forbes brand.
Hell, if I wanted to publish some crap on Forbes, even I would be able to do it. Same problem with Yahoo Finance, you can pay them $1000 and publish whatever you want. And that is why they should be banned sources for basically any social network with a shred of content moderation in it. Actually, we should have like, a blacklist for websites that continuously publish unreliable news pieces about crypto.

That's what I thought the moment I saw Forbes mentioned, he's not one of their editors it's a paid-per-article blogger. I've said it since 2020: the guy is just an article printing machine that writes stuff not because things happen but because he must have an article on certain intervals so he makes news out of nothing and I wouldn't be surprised that he has even resorted to some AI chatbot to write them down lately. Some AI have a tendency to use expressions and conduct phrases in a way normal authors don't, either they sound too academic or they exaggerate language when ordered to make it sound different. If someone wants to have a laugh should go back on his history and read articles from 2019 and 2021

that's funny. Maybe they have only one editor or writer that is focused on the Cryptocurrency niche. People can get used to particular sentence or words and keep repeating them often in their write-ups. I hope they see this post on Reddit and take correction.

From what I've realized from the "behind the curtains" of the mainstream media, specially the Western media is that they are very big on these terminologies. There are certain terms they are ordered to use and certain other things they are not allowed to use. Usually my experience is in the political news but it applies to here as well. I am not a Forbes reader but I checked out the titles and some articles. They seem like propaganda pieces. All of a sudden bitcoin and crypto are bracing for something bad to happen! Bitcoin is bracing for dump and dump and dump. There are of course some positive looking articles there as well but generally the Forbes guys seem to be very interested in dumping prices which we are always "bracing for" apparently.

The problem may also be from a lack of understanding because they will only do the news to bring good traffic without caring about what the content is about, which makes the content look the same because they are confused considering that their capacity is also only as a news writer (article) without understanding what they are writing.
This is another reason why there are too many “suddenly braced for” for every news they create. Lack of credibility may also be another factor especially now that there are so many AIs that can do their job because for them the most important thing is uptodate news to get traffic regardless of whether the content is important or not they don't really care about that because all they need is clickbait to keep their news on top. It is unfortunate actually for some big media that provide poor education and understanding of bitcoin or topics about crypto but on the other hand it is also in accordance with their capacity because they write what they do not understand.

I would expect that they are doing something about SEO, no idea how that would be working but it's basically keyword at that point and they are using it constantly which means that there must be something they know that we do not know.
Remember, this is forbes and they have all the money in the world that a small news place wouldn't really have, so if their IT or whoever is really responsible for further research into this subject figured something out, they might be giving it a try. And considering SEO isn't really show a result in 24 hours that easily, it could be something they have been trying for a while as well.
Now don't get me wrong, I do not know how "suddenly braced for" is something that could help with their keyword and SEO rankings, maybe it doesn't and I am totally wrong which wouldn't be the first time I am ever wrong, I am as wrong as the next person, however if you keep doing the same thing and expecting results that means you must know something that we do not know.
Maybe there are some marketing psychological study that shows that there are some words that gets more interest and makes people click on things, maybe it's something else, but in the end the goal is to make people read you, and that's why they do this, that much we know.

Yeah because they did some analysis on their headlines and found that using the words "suddenly braced for" leads to more views. The more views they get the more advertising they get. For every user that clicks the link and reads there are like 3-5 ads inside it.
This is generally why many of these news outlets publish negative news ahead of positive news. No one really wants to read about the success of a company only its failures and hence why typically there is more negative news than positive news.
I think this argument make more sense rather then a media in a level of Forbes just being lazy and use AI, I didn't say they are good, what I mean is that they have the budget to hire professionals. I mean it more likely that they use AI to generate headline that will attract more view not just because don't want to make an effort to make their own headline, and they definitely do some redacting before publish their article. After all nowadays media exist only for views and ads. They will do anything to get more view and ads, including using AI generated headline to feed the algorithm. We as the reader are the one that decide whether we want to supports their practice by clicking their article or not.
