Are we being too hard on ourselves? Perhaps you are seen as quite outstanding in the eyes of others. Maybe what we need to do is not just accept our mediocrity, but to learn to appreciate ourselves and take every one of our achievements seriously, no matter how small. Never forget that you are a unique individual.

Actually, no matter the achievements of people, they are really very humble. Consider a quadriplegic. There isn't any known way that he can think his body back into proper operation. And if there is brain damage, he might not be able to think at all.

If we hadn't been given our bodies and minds for free, we couldn't get them by our own exertion. Sure, we can strengthen them and improve them somewhat. But there are limits to this. Try growing a second set of arms below the ones you already have. If you can do it, you are the only one.

Consider a christian. There isn't any reliable way that he can get his thoughts back to proper operation except for abstinence.. And if there is enough brainwashing, he might not be able to think at all.

Not being the top dog can hurt.

We constantly hear things about successful people and their successful success, how persistence and hard work let them achieved their place, how they simply loved what they've been doing and this is how they made their fortunes, how they were excelling at everything they've been doing...

Of course, nobody would tell you anything about anyone who worked as hard as them yet failed for reasons not related to their hard work. What if they are just not smart enough? What if they are naturally too humble or anxious to take even minor risks? What if they are just not made for success - or, maybe it is success not made for them?

Some people never achieve more than being a dishwasher in McDonalds regardless of how hard they try - and they won't achieve anything more. Finding yourself in a similar position and realizing the limits of your potential may be frustrating.

Maybe I should stop trying to fix the problems of the world, and start to focus on my problems a little more.

Well  I do feel like I am too hard on myself. And a way that I know is when my body is exhausted and I need to rest. Feel I’m always on the go constantly, pushing myself hard to reach deadlines and my goals.
Sometimes I want to quit but remind myself of the responsibilities that I have in life and have no choice. But to push myself hard and be hard on myself when I need to do it.
