Income tax also applies in the country where I live now, but some people here are also lazy to report their income to the tax authorities so that there are many people who still avoid paying taxes because the tax percentage is already quite high. But for those who only have a small income, they also don't have to report taxes because they are only small business people who live with low income. However, if we check thoroughly, I am quite sure that medium and large business people also often spread their assets to several places and asset models so that they are not immediately detected by the tax authorities and that could make them run away from paying taxes even though their income is included in the large category.
Small income not required to report taxes if they didn't meet the income bracket to be taxed.

However, it's really wrong for people who have a small business didn't report their taxes, regardless how small or big your business, you have to pay taxes even the profit you earn are very small. It's the risk of create a business, why open a business if you can't accept losses?

Now your last point, people who split their assets to several places and models are called as tax avoidance, it's a way to reduce your taxes in legal way and this is allowed, there's nothing wrong with it.
When it comes to taxation with those business then there will be those brackets on which needed up to look for on which it isnt that justifiable that government would be imposing that taxes into those business on which it is really just that too small for it to be taxed. There might be taxation with that but it will be just that minimal. Taxation does plays a crucial role on economic development on which having that kind of that not good implementation of it could be having that kind of negative effects or truly slows down economic development plus having some problems when it comes to corruption then this will be that a huge problem.

Tax avoidance is common because there are those businesses who doesnt really like on having that kind of deduction into their overall revenue but come to think on whats the use and purpose of taxes then it is just that for the sake of development. The only issue on here is on the time that these taxes will be that not be used on how it should supposed to be.

Any country that does not enforce taxes is a horrible place to live in because it's taxes that the government use to fix the country. All social amenities like roads, electricity, security, good medical services and centers, good schools and education system are done with taxpayers' money. So if the government doesn't enforce taxes, then it means they don't fix the things they're supposed to fix.
Countries like Saudi Arabia and Qatar that don't charge a lot of taxes do that because they make a lot of money from oil, so that is enough to take care of most of the country, but they still enforce taxes.

Also, there's a high chance that countries that don't enforce taxes have a high rate of inflation and other bills. The bills, like electricity bills, other bills, and VAT, will be extremely high because the government need to find ways to recoup money. There will be a lot of unnecessary bills and corrupt ways the government uses to take money back from the people.

A country with a poor tax system sounds better than it is because it will be chaos.

We all know that as we earn income, we're required to pay taxes. Generally, the more you earn, the higher your taxes. But what about countries with weaker economies that don't strictly enforce tax laws? Would you prefer to live in such a place?

Let’s break this down: What do taxes actually do, and what are the pros and cons of living in a country where tax enforcement is weak? Overall, does this benefit the people, or does it ultimately make life harder for them?
The entire country is run through the tax money of the people of a country and various developmental works of the country are done. Therefore, it is the responsibility of every citizen to pay taxes correctly. If you are able to evade taxes, it means that everyone is evading taxes like you. And if the people of the country evade taxes in this way, this country will never develop as a developed country. I never want to harm my country. So I do not want to live in a country where there is an opportunity to evade taxes. A country where there is an opportunity to evade taxes, that country will be a corrupt country. And I never want to live in a corrupt country.

A country that paying taxes are not strictly enforced is the worst country to live in, the government doesn't keep our taxes to themselves, they use it to provide a more functional environment and we all benefit from the taxes we pay, the government use these taxes to funds important sections in the country like education and healthcare provision, I would prefer to live in a country that strictly enforce paying of taxes because I know I will benefit from what I'm paying for.

Living in a country where tax are not enforced is just like living in a nation that is failing. Taxes are use to pay workers and also helps in development of a nation, so any nation not having one in place and put it in place will not get better in my opinion.

We must not also forget whether out tax money are poured into the development of our country. If not everything would be in vain! In order to increase economical growth the government must sure that our tax money are well spend at the right place! So we must not only need a strict tax law but also some entity who would make sure everything is utilized properly, a government with a well drawn roadmap! I am saying this because, where I live we have a massive tax rates. From imported goods to job holders to businesses etc. Despite that the economy is declining. Because there are corruption in every steps. The wealthy are exploiting loopholes to evade taxes. Where there should be growth there isn't.

Am not against tax payments, it's part of the duty and obligations that a citizen owes to his country's government.

However, you won't understand if you come from a country where the government are making you feel direct impact of your tax payments in virtually all aspect.

Coming from a country where you see how the country's treasury is being looted by corrupt politicians leaving the country to poor infrastructural facilities, am not sure you'll have the joy of paying your tax when you still pay more for quality medical care that's unaccessible to many, educational system and facilities that doesn't compete with global standard, transport systems that are just a nightmare to think of and the worst insecurity that doesn't seem to end because the government ain't giving it the required attention to it's end.
I come from a country where the government are corrupt, nepotism etc anything bad you can name it and I still live here.

I'm sure I won't joy to paying my tax regardless the government are corrupt or not, corrupt countries usually have lower tax, while non corrupt countries will change higher tax. I never feel joy if I need t spend my money for government, it's better for me to spend it to my friends/colleagues/boss in order to make a relationship and increase my opportunity to work in better position/better company.
That's what we're saying, it's the only country we have and since we can't afford leaving to somewhere else like others are doing due to the height of corruption and bad governance.  There's no how anyone can be happy tax paying no matter how small what we might be paying as tax in the country is compared to other very less corrupt societies. It's still out hard earned money right? And we want to put it where we see value from like the family, friends etc you mentioned.

Somehow, the type of governance that is obtainable in any society does also influence how citizens react to tax payments responsibility.

If you're talking about countries with weaker economies I think my country happens to be one of those countries, because in my country our tax enforcement is very weak. I think this was the reason why most people is finding it very hard to survive over here, because most people barely feed. And the government in the other side  is not even helping matters, but in places like united state is obvious that the tax enforcement is very strong over there. And I think this was the reason why they don't always face much difficulties, because they have charity homes where they can help those who are in need. But in my country is very hard for you to get One, due to the bad government we have.

Tax is money that is taken from an individual who is making a living in a country either in business or working so generally people pay tax as their own contribution to the development of the society that they find themselves because there are things that the tax you pay are used for which includes using the tax you pay in funding basic amenities like provision of schools, good road network and even strengthening the military of a country so someone living in a country that tax laws are not strict is like staying in an earth quake pron  place because in such countries it's characterized by  insecurity, law basic amenities and generally a poor economy and mostly you see this kind of situations in developing countries like African countries where they are still struggling to dolve the problem of development
Taxes are good for running any country because government will run all the country by taxes . But poor people always pay more taxes which is very bad . Rich people have relationships and they have to pay no tax or little tax . We saw,all governments are applying huge amount of taxes on electricity and gas bills and labours are living life with stress because they have no money to eat . Rich people are not paying tax and government is supporting them and firstly rich people eat poor people by taking work and give them small amount of money and after that government eat them by applying taxes. There are thousands of people who killed their brother and family members due to this system because they have no money to buy food for them and they suicide .

This is why my nation doesn't really do all of that "oh you guess how much you should pay" type of deal. You just have an income paper anyway, like if it is your salary, then the government knows your salary, if it is your business, then you already make a business income when you sell something. Unless you avoid taxes by showing no sale when you sell with cash or something, or figure out a way to hide it or whatever.

There is no situation where we can make this work any other way, it has to be very important to get this working as a way to move forward. So in my nation, government tells you how much you owe in taxes, and takes it from you, that way there is no argument to be made about how to pay or how much to pay, it's all automatic.

If the country has a good government, then high taxes are very beneficial for everyone. In Germany, we have high taxes, we almost leave 50% of our salary into taxes but because of this, we have a very good health insurance, an unemployment insurance, paid sick leaves and a free education, which is the most important part of the development of any country.
The benefit of this tax system is that you don't live under constant stress and pressure, you don't worry about getting sick, you don't worry about losing job, your kids get help from the government too. For the society, this is very good but such a wonderful system doesn't come without significant flaws. The biggest negative side of this system is that it's nearly impossible to go from middle class to higher class, the more you earn, the more you pay and this is terrible if you are an ambitious person who wants to achieve something significant in life.

Taxes are the main pillars for any government that help the government to provide subsidies to the public and proper functioning of a government. We earn, and in return we have to pay taxes in the form of income tax. Government uses this amount for our facilities like healthcare, education, defense and social welfare programs. Taxes help in redistributing the wealth in society, by receiving heavy taxes from wealthier individuals which helps in economic equality.

If someone chooses to live in a country where taxes are not enforced, they can get some short-term benefits but after that they will face long-term challenges. But if there is weak enforcement of tax, businessmen will be tempted because they have to pay just lower amount of tax. But after all, weak tax enforcement will lead to underfunded public services, like education, healthcare and infrastructure which are very crucial for quality of life. So, I will never choose to live in a country where tax enforcement is weak.

I am ready to pay more taxes if these taxes are used to improve the life of society, and not stolen by officials and spent on all sorts of nonsense.

In countries with a weak economy, the standard of living will be low, and accordingly, poor medicine, education, services, etc. As well as a high level of corruption, crime.

Is it worth saving taxes on a higher standard of living, this is a rhetorical question.

I would rather pay high taxes but live in comfortable conditions than the other way around.

Let’s break this down: What do taxes actually do, and what are the pros and cons of living in a country where tax enforcement is weak? Overall, does this benefit the people, or does it ultimately make life harder for them?
The problem is not in taxes, but in their targeted or non-targeted use. There are countries where taxes are high, but at the same time, it is not known in which direction these taxes disappear, because there are no improvements at the everyday level. And there are countries where, even if taxes are high, society gets a high level of social benefits. That is, different countries use the money received from taxes in different ways.

I don’t mind taxes as long as they are reasonable but let me tell you, 50% income tax is not fucking reasonable. It doesn’t matter if you are a billionaire, 50% is just nuts and Billionaires ain’t paying it because they know how to avoid it successfully. It is the middle class that gets decimated by that high income tax they have all the right to hate it.

If the gov can’t survive on 30% income tax, which is still high but can be done btw, that gov should die anyway.

Anything over 20% is I consider high.

I would never ever think of living in a country where I pay 50% tax on my income. It is retarded.

I don’t mind taxes as long as they are reasonable

I think that "reasonable" depends not only on their amount, it's also on how they're being used.
And it's not only about good infrastructure, schools, army or police and general law enforcement, it's also on healthcare for pretty much everybody, it's also about a reasonably low amount of corruption in government and institutions for example.

Anything over 20% is I consider high.

You probably pay something near to that 20% only as VAT. If we add the tax on property (your flat, your car), then add the tax some may not even know on alcohol, tobacco, gas and so on. Should I add the income tax on top of this? Cheesy And inflation too? Cheesy

But I do understand your point. In some countries the income tax alone is very big (my country is not that far from there either imho) and overall the situation is insane because a huge part of that money is stolen by politicians, their puppeteers, friends, mistresses, part members and so on.

If I have leave my country, the I would prefer to live in a country where tax is zero. Alternatively I would want to live somewhere where we get good infrastructure, healthcare and education related benefits for the taxes I pay. Having a weak tax authority is a gamble.

In many countries, citizens are required to keep records for at least 7 to 10 years. If a country has a weak tax administration today, there's no guarantee that they won't become active in a couple of years and start demanding old taxes. It's a gamble to be honest!
