The amount of hard work one puts into a project will be seen by the investors, when you work hard and actually develop something amazing, then people will appreciate it and will give you their funding. Obviously, this isn't the end of the story, you have to keep working towards how to make better games as well, and if you keep doing this then you are going to end up with a much better result without a trouble.
Hard work is worthless without talent, so I am sure we need hard workers with a good amount of talent as well. If you can find a project that has both great quality and hard working devs as well then I am not against investing my time or money into them, but so far all I see are greedy scammers trying to ride the wave for this trend.
The amount of work doesn't matter if you are not going to do better marketing and provide something new for the market as well. People are bored with same old same old stuff, so if you just work hard and build a telegram app that we have seen so far then you are not going to et much attention, even with great marketing.
But, if you do something that has a new twist to it and could be more fun and have great design and great marketing then hard work would be good. This is why, nothing is enough all by itself, marketing isn't enough all by itself, and design isn't, and social media isn't, coding isn't, nothing is enough just one by self. But if you do all of them great then you are going to see a great amount of investors jumping into it.
