coinbaze.io
coinzone.ink
coinzone.me
blxta.com

All of them let users sign up first and use promo code to redeem some quantities of bitcoin, which amounts to thousands of dollars. When it comes to the time to withdraw, they ask the users to verify the payment by sending amount of cryptos to the website system account. DO NOT GET CHEATED ON!

Please list all the scam websites with me. Anyone can add in the comments.

This "coinbase.io" might look legit since it uses the same name as the exchange. However, if we follow basic preventive measures to avoid phishing scams, we shouldn’t fall victim to this. Activating 2FA security should be the answer, such scam attempts would never work if 2FA is in place.

I believe most exchanges including coinbase had already made 2FA mandatory, correct me if I'm wrong.

For some reason, I can't even enter the websites you provided, but the official website for Coinbase should contain .com in it, as far as I know.
But thanks nevertheless, OP.

Yep, and also sending something to be given something - that's a no-no from me.
Period.

Claiming promos as a new signed up member that amount into thousands of dollars is already a red flag aside from the domain difference, any platform that offers you free money is a trap to get to you and steal your own money, generating thousands of dollars without doing nothing is a ponzi scheme like rewards and that is pour scam, the Bitcoin world is build around security and just as the first comment suggested, having a 2FA security in place will protect you against any possible phishing attacks if and when you fall victim to phishing attacks, but then being greedy is what drive one into scam faster than any other means, so don't per small amount as gss fees to withdraw big amount this is scammers trying to get the fees from you as their own scam bounty.

The best question to ask yourself is, if this site have value for the money their offers you in free bies and promos, then their should deduct the fees from the balance with them and pay out the remaining amount, so any thing that make them to ask you flr a fees on tgat money means attempt scam and you shouldn't fall flr that.

Its a very old method of scamming people; they usually target newbies because they know how this thing works and they are greedy. Any website that asks for funds before you are allowed to withdraw is an outright scam. They first did it in a casino, then after getting exposed in the gambling community, they targeted the traders by launching their own exchange, but the scheme is still the same.
If you are not updated on the various methods of these scammers, you might get victimized, so be aware.

Yes, that's correct. The promo codes they send to victims in these companies' and projects' communities, as well as the deceptive messages and fake domains that might closely resemble the original official domain or use the same domain name but with a different suffix can lead someone to trust what they are promoting mistakenly. If a person knows that he should not deposit money before withdrawing any fake funds from these domains targeting CEx and doesn't trust strangers, and if he conducts his research, he can avoid being scammed.

I advise OP to make the links unclickable, such as placing a [.] before the domain's extension. It’s clear that the first domain doesn't work, and I will file a report with the registrar of the second domain to have it shut down as well.

You might have gotten the first domain wrong. The site does not have any content and according to the WHOIS information, Coinbase.io was registered by Coinbase, Inc. — probably to prevent domain squatters and phishing scams.

The Coinzone website does look well designed and that might be enough to fool some newbies into thinking they are legitimate. The fact they are using a cheap .ink domain for a crypto website is kind of a red flag. You cannot find anything about them on Google. That is not an exchange anybody should trust with any amount of funds.

By the way, OP, you can report that to Coinbase by following the instructions provided in the link below.

https://help.coinbase.com/en/coinbase/privacy-and-security/avoiding-phishing-and-scams/reporting-phishing-sites

You’ve done a great job helping the community become aware of this scam, but it’s even better if Coinbase takes action on their end as well.

I guess it’s a typo and the correct name for this scam echange is coinbaze (with a "z"). The domain name was registered two months ago and it uses the same template as the second one (with a slightly different design). So, it must be it.
The typo OP made make you realize how dangerous typosquatting scams can be!

Pretty sure there are many similar scam websites that use the same template. So, it would be more effective to explain how this scam works and how to idenify it instead of wasting time on making an infinte list of URLs. Just my opinin, though.

Oh, that address really doesn’t exist. I guess no one has created an address like that yet, though it does look misleading. As I mentioned earlier, even if someone falls for this scam URL, the scammers likely still wouldn’t be able to steal assets.

The real Coinbase already requires users to enable 2FA for enhanced security, making it much harder for scammers to access accounts.

Its a recycled method to scam, and its not going to die because it's easy to set up if you know how to clone a site, and there are newbies who are unaware of this method. I've been teaching all my friends that if a platform, even if they looked legit, asked you to deposit first before you could withdraw your free money, its a scam because no legit platform will give you free money without working for it.

It sounds like your typical exchange scams where they allure unsuspecting or maybe dumb enough people with too good to be true promotions. I've seen so many scams that are operating like this, some are more elaborate and some are just plain stupid(but some people are still falling for it).

am I the only one who can't access the site? have they bee taken down?

Yes a very old scam scheme coming up again with a new domain from time to time; they know they have willing victims. I just don't like the title of this discussion, as if it implies that Bitcoin is a scam; OP could have made a better title, but thanks anyway for making us aware that this old recycle scheme is back again and for newbies to get alerted.

For some reason, I can't even enter the websites you provided, but the official website for Coinbase should contain .com in it, as far as I know.
But thanks nevertheless, OP.
This is not just a scam that targets Coinbase users alike; it's most likely the first one that answers Coinbase might target them, but this type of scam pattern is just the same for them.

Some even have their own exchange name, and the people who fall victim are those who don’t know that there is no free money on the internet.

In some cases they go with stories like they come from restricted countries where they are not allowed to withdraw, and they trust the person, and this and that tries to convince the victim that they are real and even offer to give them some percentage if they withdraw the money; these scammers are very tricky.

a lot of old scams are popping up again lately because of the hype around crypto again.

Activating 2FA security should be the answer, such scam attempts would never work if 2FA is in place.

you will be surprised on how many accounts gets hacked even with 2FA enabled, so i would not count on it alone to keep an account safe.

This kind of scam is a classic red flag for crypto giveaways because legitimate cryptocurrency exchanges don't offer huge amounts of free Bitcoins just for signing up. If they create a sense of urgency to rush you into making a deposit it's likely a scammer's tactic.

I can't access those sites, are they down?

If you're unsure about a website be cautious and avoid it. There are many reputable cryptocurrency exchanges out there do your research before creating an account.
