Actually i have friend of mine and now he's playing in secret to prevent argument with his partner and the funny part is that he use me as a sender  through his account and pay cash to me so that he still can play without evidence. Yeah, that's a factor too. We may not sense it but we are already being sucked into a black hole because of too much excitement in gambling. I don't blame the gambler because it could happen which is why we need to learn a lot of things about gambling first before we jump in. Before COVID-19, I was so hooked on poker so I attended the weekly tournament in a poker room near my work and I can say it became like a habit to me because there's so much fun inside. From what I understand from the article, I think in this case we cannot blame the family for abandoning the addict, because we can see that there is manipulativ behaviour that makes the family lose trust in the addict,  I think the deterrent effect may be the reason why the family stays away from their addicted relative, in addition to might be the only way to protect the other family members from the influence and also the bad effects that the addict will bring, in my opinion, dealing with the impact of addiction is not an easy thing and it might even make the family exhausted, so it is very natural if there are some families who stay away from their addicted relatives.

I agree that gamblers should set their limit. I mean the time and bankroll limit. I also accept that gamblers should avoid chasing losses and also that they should see gambling just as entertainment and not a means of making money. But I do not agree that they should avoid alcohol as long as they are not drunk. I am not talking about drugs. Drugs are not good thing at all.

Yes, you are right because everything he mentioned is quite good for a gambler to have in mind. But saying that a gambler should avoid drinking alcohol can't be possible because I don't really see anything wrong with it if drink it responsibly, allex he take it escess if not there is nothing wrong if a gambler chooses to drink alcohol. However, just like as you have said I think Drugs is not really good at all not only gamblers but for everyone that really wants to become a better person in the future.
