I have quoted the famous bettor of the past J.R. Miller many times in my posts. I can't resist quoting him again. I came across his quote about what part of the game is the most important in sports betting. Here is the quote itself:
In the NBA, the last five minutes of the game matter. The only reason the game is an hour long is because no one will buy a ticket to watch a five-minute show."
You may not agree with this statement. For example, if you place live bets, you may be interested in watching different parts of the game. However, do you agree with the quote as a whole? Is it really only the last 5 minutes of the match that matter to you?
He is absolutely right, infact, I first read the subject of this thread in the board and tried to answer the queshin question before I clicked to open the thread, and what I actually said in my mind was that it's the last part or minutes of the game or match that is the most important for a bettor, because the last minutes can change alot of things, I opened the thread to see that it is the same thing J.R. Miller said in his statement that you quoted.
A friend of mine had a bet on a football game, and around 80 minutes of play, his team was winning with a goal of 1 against the other team what was yet to score a goal, so he was already very happy that he was going to win the bet since we were both watching the match together, I was happy for him as well because he really betted a huge amount of money, one am very sure he still regretted losing to date.
Between the 80 and 90 minutes of the match, the other team managed to score 2 goals, shifting the score from 1:0 to 1:2, and extra time of 5 minutes was added, no goals came in again and this was how a supposed winning ticket turned out to be a loss just within minutes.
So, for me, I totally agree that the last 5 to 10 minutes of a match is the most important and crucial time for a bettor, because at this point, any mistake can lead to either a loss from what was being won, or a win from what was being lost.
