Erdogan's Noose Around Putin's Neck Turkey, which is one of the three largest buyers of Russian oil, suddenly refused Russian oil. Erdogan waited for an opportune moment when China and India, under pressure from American sanctions imposed by Biden, announced the end of oil purchases from Russia, and now it's high time for a hooligan from a St. Petersburg alley to shout "FRAUD". And that's not all! The noose in the form of the "Turkish Stream", which Russia itself built to bypass the Druzhba gas pipeline to Europe, in the confidence of a reliable option for selling gas to Europe through Turkey, can be tightened at any moment by Erdogan, and then Putin will have no time for the anniversary parade, which he intends to hold in honor of the 80th anniversary of the victory over Germany. By the way, the head of the Russian Central Bank Nabiullina predicts that if the war continues, then in the next two months the Russian economy will collapse, and the country will find itself in the situation of the 90s of the last century. Here it is important to note two more very significant facts:
First, - following the refusal of Russian oil, Erdogan reminded about the illegality of the annexation of Crimea by Russia, and about the cruel treatment of the Crimean Tatars by the Russian occupiers, as the indigenous population of the peninsula.
Second, - literally at the same time as the meeting of the US and Russian delegations in Riyadh, a meeting took place between Erdogan and Zelensky, who hastily arrived in Ankara. I believe they discussed more serious military assistance to Ukraine from Turkey, against the backdrop of Trump's inconsistent and sometimes paradoxical statements regarding Ukraine and its president. It is quite possible that Turkey, which has the second NATO army, will take America's place in the group of countries providing military support to Ukraine in its desperate attempt to stop Russian fascism. It is likely that Erdogan and Zelensky agreed on another important point for Erdogan, namely, the special status of the Crimean Tatars after the liberation of Crimea from the Russian invaders. (1)
