That's why I don't reveal my Telegram username (I know I know, I will sound like a broken record) because I do not like to deal with impersonators.
Scum will look for low-hanging fruit to scam $50 or maybe $100 from people.
Only the stupid fall for it though. If people just use their brains a little they can always verify and you are not leaving yourself with 1 less avenue for communication. You are not responsible for others stupidity.
I'm an stupid too. I lost $600 on such a trick last year. It was so real that I can't distrust the imposter.

I was tricked more than once before finally learned to ignore any request that is related to urgent money/my ex client on Telegram. The last one was somewhere between 0.04 BTC to 0.053 BTC LOL
See what I mean? Only stupid people fall for it lol.
Obviously kidding, yes anyone can get fooled. If you are careful though and are triple checking @names, previous chat(if wiped big red flag), making them verify on bitcointalk, getting address on here in most cases, you should be fine.
I personally do not send anything via telegram unless i 100% know it's the person I have been chatting with. 99% of the time I am receiving anyways.
