Unless there is something I don't understand, you guys are being a bit too harsh on the newbie, his first post which was quoted by Phill
Hi,
I stumbled upon a website called Find The Block https: // xxfindtheblockxx . com that offers solo mining for Bitcoin with a fixed 2 GH/s hashrate for different time periods. Their claim is that if you validate a block, you keep the full 3.125 BTC reward (minus the network fee, I guess).
The prices seem low (€1.99 for a day, €4.99 for a week, etc.), and it looks like a simple way to try solo mining without needing expensive hardware. But I’m wondering if it’s actually worth it or if it’s just another cloud mining scheme.
From my understanding, solo mining with only 2 GH/s has an extremely low probability of hitting a block, but I wanted to hear from others before dismissing it.
Has anyone here tried it?
Do you think a service like this has any real potential?
Could it be a legit way to test solo mining, or is it just a waste of money?
Looking forward to your thoughts. Thanks!
This is what user nflix80 should be accountable for, the other post of nomining. com (pun intended) was made by another account (Skye0619111), obviously, the second one was directly promoting a scam, but unless you can prove that these two accounts are operated by the same user, there is no valid reason to tag this user.
Also, the first post doesn't seem like an AI-generated topic to me, I don't care what these AI checks tell you, but the way I see it is (original content) even if it was written with the help of AI, the guy is asking about a service, while he could be just promoting it or SEO spamming, there is no solid evidence.
My judgment is based on the fact that I am very active in the mining section, I get constant messages of people being scammed over these cloud mining services, there exist naive people who really believe such things exist, so there is a good chance OP was genuinely asking.
What's even more interesting is that the pool in question could very well be legit judging by the hashrate they are selling it's possible that this guy has a few USB sticks he wants to rent, and for the price he is asking, everything seems to line up, this doesn't seem anything like your average mining scam website, of course, I am not saying it's legit, but it could be.
The only review I found about it was someone claiming the website took 150,000USD from him and then an x person helped him get back the money and that any potential victim who got scammed should contact the x person, to me, this review holds zero weight for obvious reasons.
"solo mining" refers to mining on your own computer, using your own hardware. You can't "solo mine" via a website where you have no idea what is actually going on behind the scenes.
There exists legit solo mining pools and hash rentals, so you can solo mine without virtually owning anything but money,
the concept of the website is very legit, it's only a matter of how legit is the person, so really, you can't be too sure that it's indeed scam.
Also, the website says the "averaging hashrate" is 4 GH/s... Meanwhile the bitcoin network hash rate is 815,022,762,708 GH/s. This means your chance of ever finding a block at that hash rate is almost zero. Literally 0.0000000005% chance per block. That means you will "validate" about 1 in every 2 billion blocks, which is the same thing as never.
That's correct, however, many people buy these small USB sticks and gamble for a block, actually, they have been successful a couple of times on CK pool using sub tera hardware, a person is more likely to get hit by a thunderstorm than finding a block with sub tera hashrate, but sometimes (more so very rarely) people get lucky.
With that said, judging by the promised hashrate, it seems less scammy, I have seen a truckload of mining scams, that promise PH worth of hashrate for cheap, the website in question is offering a tiny bit of hashrate at a reasonable price, and on his website he mentions that you can direct the hashrate to a pool of your choosing
Transparent Pool Selection: VKBit, Public Pool, CKPool
All it takes to find out if he is a scam would be €1.99 and point hashrate to CK, if you see your 4GH on the pool status -- you are good, otherwise, you have been scammed.
Warning: I don't advise anyone to try the website, all am saying is, nobody can be 100% sure that this is a scam or not.
