This thread has two posts that look really similar. this is the op post

Hi,
I stumbled upon a website called Find The Block https: // findtheblock . com that offers solo mining for Bitcoin with a fixed 2 GH/s hashrate for different time periods. Their claim is that if you validate a block, you keep the full 3.125 BTC reward (minus the network fee, I guess).
The prices seem low (€1.99 for a day, €4.99 for a week, etc.), and it looks like a simple way to try solo mining without needing expensive hardware. But I’m wondering if it’s actually worth it or if it’s just another cloud mining scheme.
From my understanding, solo mining with only 2 GH/s has an extremely low probability of hitting a block, but I wanted to hear from others before dismissing it.
Has anyone here tried it?
Do you think a service like this has any real potential?
Could it be a legit way to test solo mining, or is it just a waste of money?
Looking forward to your thoughts. Thanks!

The concept of solo mining with a fixed hashrate like 2 GH/s is intriguing, especially for those who want to dip their toes into solo mining without investing in expensive hardware. However, as you mentioned, the probability of actually finding a block with such a low hashrate is extremely slim. Bitcoin's network difficulty is incredibly high, and even with larger hashrates, solo mining is often more of a lottery than a reliable income stream.
I recently wrote an in-depth article about solo mining, How to Mine 3.125 Bitcoin at Home(https:// yesmining .io /en/how-to-mine-3-125-bitcoin-at-home/), and it’s a great resource for anyone interested in solo mining. The article covers key topics like the basics of solo mining, the challenges of low hashrates, the importance of mining pools, and whether it’s feasible to mine Bitcoin at home.
If you also think this lottery-like BTC mining is fun, you can start by learning about the Solo BTC Miner above. Solo mining requires patience, but the potential rewards make it a worthwhile venture for miners.

Yes, they are AI generated, I've run them through two detectors but this doesn't belong here, it belongs to reputation. And next time you find something like this there is a special thread dedicated to these cases:

According to Copyleaks, both posts are 100% and 99% AI-generated.
Using an AI post to talk about something you want people to check out is a red flag to me. If you're lazy enough to simply copy and paste an AI post without at least putting in a little effort then you shouldn't be taken seriously.
I've seen someone here promoting his service with a cop and past from an AI-generated post, that's too lazy and bad for business.

It's another case of SEO spam and shilling. I've said it few times, but mining board have received this kind of spam in last few months[1-3].

I broke the links here for safety.

Good, that way you can avoid giving any SEO bump. Everyone should do this when quoting post or mentioning something that contain suspicious link.

If the forum made it impossible for newbies to post clickable links, then there would be no need to talk about things like this - this way we can hope that someone will make a report and that such a user will be nuked, which of course will not prevent him from creating xx more new accounts and repeating the same thing.

If you have my original posts deleted and remove any evidence that could prove otherwise, then of course everyone will side with you. What do you want from me? I don’t understand. Are you missing someone to tell you how great you are at playing detective? Well, from my point of view, you’re not because you keep insisting on a false idea. You are linking both posts to me even though I had already explained in the other post (the one you asked to be removed) that it’s not like that. If someone decided to use my post to promote themselves or make phishing (like you said), that’s not my problem.

For your big issue with AI, did you know it can also be used to translate conversations into another language for people who aren't fluent in English? Did you know this post was translated using AI but written in my own language? Is that really such a serious problem? A translated conversation is equal to a totally generated AI content? I don't think so.

Anyway, I’ve already wasted enough time on this whole story, do whatever you want. If you’re happy with that, good for you.

Irrelevant as your red tag is for promoting a scam and not using AI. You were noticed because of your use of AI, then it was noticed that you are using AI to promote a scam. So you would have eventually been red tagged anyway. Using AI to write your posts for you just hastened the process of you being exposed as a scam promoter.

irrelevant maybe for you, not for the other people who are checking every word I wrote on my post, and as I said many times i've not promoted any scam, I was just asking a question about a legit website (not phishing), and other people where commenting until someone posted an ai generated post with a scam link, if other people had promoted a phishing site that's not my fault, should be a moderator fault.

It doesn’t exactly take a genius to figure out that the person who wrote that post using AI did it to promote their website, while I was asking for clarification about another website. Honestly, it would make sense to ask the moderators to run a proper check to prove I’m right, but I’ve realized that around here, things only seem to go one way.

If asking about a website means being treated like a scammer, promoter, or thief, then now I know how things work here. Seems like even asking a simple question gets you judged without any real reason

LOL this is NOT a "legit website". Its clearly a scam. First of all, "solo mining" refers to mining on your own computer, using your own hardware. You can't "solo mine" via a website where you have no idea what is actually going on behind the scenes.

Also, the website says the "averaging hashrate" is 4 GH/s... Meanwhile the bitcoin network hash rate is 815,022,762,708 GH/s. This means your chance of ever finding a block at that hash rate is almost zero. Literally 0.0000000005% chance per block. That means you will "validate" about 1 in every 2 billion blocks, which is the same thing as never.

So yeah collecting money for this - even if they do what they are advertising (which you have no way of actually knowing) - is highly scammy.

Seems like even asking a simple question gets you judged without any real reason

Seems you bought an account to promote a scam and you're mad it turned out to be a waste of money.

The answer you're giving me had already been given to me, and as far as I was concerned, that was the end of it, in fact, I had concluded by saying that I would use a NerdMiner. What I don't understand is all the fuss that was made about my post. I asked a question, you answered, and I had already moved on.

Also, the site actually allows you to verify the mining activity since it relies on external pools, so you keep replying without really knowing what you're talking about. I know it because I'm still using this service and 2 euros of service payment doesn't make me poor or transforms me in a promoter, it's just a matter of principle for me now, because you discredited me, made fun of me, and deleted my posts. It doesn’t seem any different from a NerdMiner or every other solo mining device to me, so are all devices made for solo mining considered scams now due to their low chances? You use solo mining devices for free and is it a scam selling those devices? I can't get the point of your comment.

You keep insisting on the promoter thing, but it’s not fair to blindly bash something you don’t even know. If you don’t know what you’re talking about, then don’t talk about it, or if you do want to talk about it, at least take the time to do some research first. That’s how it works in real life. Also because your arguments contradict themselves

For your big issue with AI, did you know it can also be used to translate conversations into another language for people who aren't fluent in English?

Additionally, the topic here was about AI and copy cat (please refer to the title of this topic), so hoping the case is now resolved, I kindly ask you to delete this whole topic as well and restore the rating that was taken away from me. Thank you.

Unless there is something I don't understand, you guys are being a bit too harsh on the newbie, his first post which was quoted by Phill

Do you think a service like this has any real potential?
Could it be a legit way to test solo mining, or is it just a waste of money?
Looking forward to your thoughts. Thanks!

This is what user nflix80 should be accountable for, the other post of nomining. com (pun intended) was made by another account (Skye0619111), obviously, the second one was directly promoting a scam, but unless you can prove that these two accounts are operated by the same user, there is no valid reason to tag this user.

Also, the first post doesn't seem like an AI-generated topic to me,  I don't care what these AI checks tell you, but the way I see it is (original content) even if it was written with the help of AI, the guy is asking about a service, while he could be just promoting it or SEO spamming, there is no solid evidence.

My judgment is based on the fact that I am very active in the mining section, I get constant messages of people being scammed over these cloud mining services, there exist naive people who really believe such things exist, so there is a good chance OP was genuinely asking.

What's even more interesting is that the pool in question could very well be legit judging by the hashrate they are selling it's possible that this guy has a few USB sticks he wants to rent, and for the price he is asking, everything seems to line up, this doesn't seem anything like your average mining scam website, of course, I am not saying it's legit, but it could be.

The only review I found about it was someone claiming the website took 150,000USD from him and then an x person helped him get back the money and that any potential victim who got scammed should contact the x person, to me, this review holds zero weight for obvious reasons.

"solo mining" refers to mining on your own computer, using your own hardware. You can't "solo mine" via a website where you have no idea what is actually going on behind the scenes.

There exists legit solo mining pools and hash rentals, so you can solo mine without virtually owning anything but money, the concept of the website is very legit, it's only a matter of how legit is the person, so really, you can't be too sure that it's indeed scam.

Quote
Also, the website says the "averaging hashrate" is 4 GH/s... Meanwhile the bitcoin network hash rate is 815,022,762,708 GH/s. That means you will "validate" about 1 in every 2 billion blocks, which is the same thing as never.

That's correct, however, many people buy these small USB sticks and gamble for a block, actually, they have been successful a couple of times on CK pool using sub tera hardware, a person is more likely to get hit by a thunderstorm than finding a block with sub tera hashrate, but sometimes (more so very rarely) people get lucky.

With that said, judging by the promised hashrate, it seems less scammy, I have seen a truckload of mining scams, that promise PH worth of hashrate for cheap, the website in question is offering a tiny bit of hashrate at a reasonable price, and on his website he mentions that you can direct the hashrate to a pool of your choosing

Quote
Transparent Pool Selection: VKBit, Public Pool, CKPool

All it takes to find out if he is a scam would be €1.99 and point hashrate to CK, if you see your 4GH on the pool status -- you are good, otherwise, you have been scammed.

Warning: I don't advise anyone to try the website, all am saying is, nobody can be 100% sure that this is a scam or not.

OK, taking your words into consideration and given that nflix80's thread has already been deleted, I removed my tag.

Additionally, the topic here was about AI and copy cat (please refer to the title of this topic), so hoping the case is now resolved, I kindly ask you to delete this whole topic as well and restore the rating that was taken away from me. Thank you.

I can't delete the topic, and I don't think that's a wise idea anyway. Your account fits all the hallmarks of a scammer: waking up a 2018 account with no other posts to post a link to a website offering unproven services, and then using AI to thank everybody for their replies... its just weird. Anyway. Tag removed.

Even the accused's replies look to be AI generated.

Hey Phil, can we organise something like this on the posts in the push up thread, please?
