When setting a budget for gambling do you considered the extra expenses that come with it? I want think we can call them "miscellaneous expenses." Things like even higher internet/data costs, buying bonuses. For physical casinos transportation, food and drinks at the casino, or even fees for online transactions. Generally, those so called miscellaneous expenses are neglectable when we talk about gambling online, specially when we talk about internet connection, electricity and other sources we would need to gamble on a casino online. On the other hand, those who gamble exclusively at brick-and-mortar casinos have to get out their way in order to balance their budgets and cover their specific needs associated with their gambling travel. If i'm going to be going gambling I don't like to rack up miscellaneous expenses becasue the amount I go in with is the amount I intend to lose... I mean wager to win BIG!!! haha. If i'm going to an actual casino I will try to refrain from drinks as it impairs judgement and makes you do dumb things & also you lose money before you even have a chance to place your bet! If you're plan is go to to the casino and drink and do drugs you probably 1. Won't remember it 2. You will put all your money in on one bet spur of the moment and lose it all. However, if you're going to the casino with a large group of very good friends and you plan to the the aforementioned just to have a good time for like a bachelor party or something I would condone it, in that case bring a lot of extra money for "miscellaneous expenses"

There is a separate budget for internet costs, food, transportation etc.
But for bonus purchases then it goes in the gambling budget because this is the same as gambling to buy bonuses.

So I separate for both... The gambling budget is a little more specialized at around 5% of income while the other budgets are already set and other obligations.

You're right, I consider miscellaneous expenses in my main expenses budget and only consider funds spent on the betting site as gambling budget.

Data is what I must have whether I gamble it not, so there's a fixed budget for it monthly and I don't go to physical casinos anymore, so I'm not considering transportation.

Proper budget or something that do talks about financial management will really be always the key on which you will really be having this kind of approach or you would really be that wanting yourself to deal up with gambling. If you are really that wanting to have some budget then it will really be that up to you since its your money after all. The important thing on here is that you shouldnt really be going beyond those limits.

As someone that doesn't spend too much time gambling I don't really set aside extra cash for Internet cost because my monthly subscription is always enough for me to use through out the month. I think this should only be considered by gamblers that spend hours on gambling sites. But there's one thing I do that's very important and I think it's important for every gambler to take note of. Before setting aside your usual bankroll for gambling always make sure that you have already set aside the money for your day to day expenses and also other bills that are important, your bankroll should be secondary.

Every other expenses is separate from my gambling budget, if we are talking about internet cost it's something that I don't spend much on so those expenses are treated separately. A gambler who is able to manage his finances and set budgets for gambling and other things would be able to utilize his earnings wisely. An addicted gambler on the other hand can't do this because everything that comes into his account goes into gambling. I believe those people that keep extra expenses for their gambling budget are those that gamble offline.
