Like a comedy but for real. Someone invites a journalist to a chat in which several top officials of the US government chat about the strikes in Yemen, well before these were to happen, including some details.

Now the Security Commitee is just asking a few quesions, the main one is ... "was there classified information being discussed in the group?" and the answer then becomes "yes, but no, but maybe...."

People might conclude that sometimes mistake happens. This is not the first time such a thing has happened. But this leak showed that some of Trump's appointees are not competent. It will take less than a few minutes to cross-check the members of a chat group. A group where classified information will be shared should have gone through several checks before discussion commences.

CIA Director John Ratcliffe and National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard are denying that any secret information was leaked in the group chat, which is contrary to  Jeffrey Goldberg's report. I see this as more of incompetence than a mistake.

I honestly find it troubling that they seem to have genuine hate against EU. It's not just a show, as no one was supposed to see it.
We definitely need to cut some ties and any jet fighter deals with backdoors needs to be cancelled. As it seems to be plausible that they are going to side with the enemy and break all the deals when ever next trump is in charge again.

The thing is that it is actually classified. If you look at the interventions, one of the committee members clearly states that information that is not approved specifically for publication is classified. This contains times and information about a military strike and these details could have costed lives. Of course it is classified! How would any government be ever making public a military plan!

I read about this news but only took a quick look at the headline because I did not have much time to dive further. It seems this is rather more serious than appeared to be on the headline.
So, it appears under the Trump administration is okey to leak or discuss classified information with civilians, just like Trump, people set in positions of informative privilege seem to be as prone to leak information as Trump itself is.

The most dangerous part is how people within the Republican party will downplay this and won't say a word against these kind of classified information leaks, because Trump owns the party now.

I wasn't really sure of what was going on in the YouTube video that the OP shared until several backlashing questions started coming in. I don't know about others, but Imo, such information are clearly classified and shouldn't get to the ears of public, whether by mistake or with true intentions. I was quite surprised when the lady in the video couldn't admit that such information is classified, or is there a different meaning for the word "classified" ?.

Well, from the video, the senate seem to be taking the matter very seriously, and I could see fear on the faces of those that where brought for questioning. Mistakes like this are just too silly, and shouldn't even be a thing of discussion.

The laidy is the Director of the CIA, the guy to her right is the director of the FBI and to her left the Secretary of State. These people have been choosen by Trump despite evident questions about their ability, curriculum, understanding of their roles and general character.

If this would have been a democrat, republicans would want capital punishment.

If it was a mistake? Yes, it was. Cross-check the figures that were in that meeting and you'll get the answer without anyone telling you.

How come there was no media house invited to capture the entire meeting to broadcast on news for public consumption if the meeting wasn't for a discussion of classified informations.

The mistake has been made, and if I were to be Trump my intelligence security will have a lot of questioning to answer. It's their duty to make sure such mistakes doesn't surface except they are incompetent.
