Yes, trading is also addictive as gambling, just that the damage trading does to your mental health is way more higher than gambling, and the losses is even more severe, and due to the losses and the mental stress in  trading, it's more easier to stop than gambling, but you will hardly see someone talking about it, because is quiet easy to forgo the habit.

In some cases it may be but it is not that easy to give up trading. You look at your portfolio several times a day and see how much your wealth is increasing or decreasing. It is a kind of addiction. It can be in between your daily work or in your free time. If you do not have the need to look at your portfolio, then maybe you can keep yourself in long term investments but I think you should trade regardless of profit or loss because your understanding and experience about the market will grow and with time your mental performance will become great in trading. To stay mentally calm, the amount allocated for trading should be kept in such a way that even if you lose that amount it will not negatively affect your daily activities. I do short term trading as well as long-term investments which increases the profit as you gain experience about the market conditions.

I believe we can only say someone is addicted to gambling when the gambler has started to act stupid by not realizing he's loosing more than his Incomes and haven to gambling without plans with zero self control. Moreover gambling is basically an entertaining events while it has the chances of profit returns.

Trading is strictly a financial instrument with an obligation of traders to be successful in it while developing good trading strategies and persistence is the key word to reach the goal.
You can perhaps be addicted when you also have lost your mind out of it probably when greeds has been applied or when trading ignorantly and just depends your success on lucks instead of knowledge without being able to identify when you're going right so you can necessarily adjust to it. You are one of the few who understand the psychology of addiction in trading, unlike how many relate it directly to that of gambling, they are not the same thing. Gambling has produced the highest number of addicts, and this addiction is in stages, which is why many are addicted to gambling and still continue to gamble because the severity of the addiction is not alarming, thanks to how you can use a low wager in gambling.

But in trading, if you are addicted, it means that you are parting ways with a sizable amount of money over time. How many people can be consistent with that? So they leave early.

Addiction can come in any form and by any means, if we failed to properly positioned ourself to how we are trading, not only on trades can we have addiction, this also exist in every other thing we may be doing wrongly from the usual way it is expected to be done, we also have to consider that addiction in trading could come in many forms and also cost us, because we are not going to be addicted only, but also lose more trading fund at the cause.

Yep. I think trading could be addictive.
It is easy to get addicted to trading as well, especially the form you mentioned. People take high risks to make money faster, and once they realize they can make money, they try more. Even if someone loses money, they try to recover the funds by trading more. People eventually get addicted to trading.

Now, I believe there are a couple of signs of addiction. The traders usually do some research before they open a position. But if someone gets addicted, they focus on making quick money and open positions without doing research. Also, addicted traders do not have a session plan. They start opening positions even when they are travelling, eating, or doing other activities. While the non-addicted traders have their dedicated time for trading only.

Never force yourself to continue entering the market when we have just experienced a loss or something like that. because usually when we force ourselves into the market the results will not be good.
