I don't know why Vendors in Centralized Exchange dey negotiate price after wen dem say dem dey buy with a specific amount. Example some them go put $1,540 in their ads and which probably na di current/correct price but when you placed order to sell bitcoin. Dem go price am come down below the current price of a dollar. Some even negotiate $1, 4200 or below. And when you asked them why dem dey negotiate different from their displayed price, dem go say na to attract People to their ads and they would be wasting people's time with their negotiations. If you have 0.003 which can give you N509+ but those Vendors go Negotiate with you to sell them N450k or even below.
And in other words dem dey manipulate the price. But is it that the owners of the exchange e no dey aware of weti dey happened or they just keep am like that to spoil things for them? I am really tired of that nonsense. How person go invest and getting small profit and vendors go come dey price nonsense. If dem put $1540 to buy, let dem buy am with day amount and not do other way round.

This is becoming a normal thing for many of those p2p vendors on centralized exchanges. Before it was just out of bitcoins volatility during the beginning of the year and I taught it would come to an end now that bitcoin had become a bit stable. They are forgetting that we can report them and have their funds locked..since I noticed this mischievous move from those pwp vendor, I stoped trading my BTC directly and convert it to stable coins first before selling. But recently I see they are now doing same thing on usdt too...

Avoid any vendor that initiate any negotiations aside what he offers on his ads.. or you can report them when they become naughty aswell and don't release any funds till they complete the payment.. they can't flag you because they are obviously wrong and the exchange would flag them instead...

I've never had such kind of experience. From the screenshot, I can see it happened in Bybit exchange. Sadly, the exchange is not doing much to fight scams. However, that shouldn't stop you from reporting these scammers.

Whenever you encounter issues like this, don't bother to engage the vendor in the chatbot. It's pointless trying to negotiate since everything is automated. Allow the timer to count down. Then, file an appeal and present your evidence.

I have experience this a few months back when trying to withdraw the gains I made in trading, this guy sent #40k instead of #43k plus, as I noticed that he short payed me, I messaged him that if he do not complete my money I will not release, can you imagine that this guy was begging me like snr man leave this one for me na, make I use am see front, that the price he is buying my usdt is too high, I told him that if he is not ok with it he should cancel the trade, and I will refund him, that if he fails to complete the money or cancel the trade in the next three minutes, I will report him as scam, that was how he completed my money, so we should just be careful when doing p2p especially in bybit.
And take note that they don't always write it down that the price is negotiable, just as my own experience, if my eye no reach ground, I for just fall for the guy.

I have also noticed it that when selling Bitcoin the buy always negotiate from what the exchange has already calculated. Some of them have an argument because they do write it in their bio so before you trade with anyone you should try reading their write up, if you are hit cool you avoid their ads.

But I have come to do now is I convert my Bitcoin to stable coin right before selling because the negotiation is less to none on stable coin because I have not encounter selling my stable coin less than what the exchange calculated.

Aside the fact that these vendors must be reported, I think Bybit also needs to play their own role well by punishing those that default an agreement. I see no reason why a vendor should start negotiating when he/she can quietly display their amount of choice. People now see agreement default as a normal thing with no remorse of what the other party might feel about the default.

And the crazy thing is, some of these vendors that we talking about don't even bother to negotiate. They just go ahead and send an incomplete amount with similar figures, and if a seller isn't careful enough, he might fall for it and release the coin. It's sickening to see Nigerians trying to outsmart their fellow Nigerians, when a business deal can easily go through without any parties have issues.

Something like dis never happen to me before, but I don hear people complain about something like this before. All this vendors na crazy set of people dem be, dem Dey look for opportunity to scam people be that now, and exchange no sabi all dis things.

You even get luck say dis one Dey even bargain with you, if you Dey run transaction sometimes, some go reduce the amount wey dem suppose send give you without even informing you, if you no notice am before you release coin, that one don go be that ooo. If you wan sell like 35k some of them go send like 31k give you, na y you suppose Dey confirm the amount wey you suppose receive, and the amount wey you receive.

If you Dey run transaction, and d vendor the negotiate with you, no gree ooo, if him no go send money wey him suppose send, then make him cancel the transaction, if him send wrong amount, no release coin give am, go report am, if him see say you report am, him go send remaining balance give you, and make sure you leave negative feedback for that kin person so that other people go Dey careful.

So that their ads will be at the top, and the worst thing about them is that they usually don't use to sell much, as their limit is always around $5 to $10, so that if you want to buy $10 at a rate of $1/1552, they will then negotiate to deduct #100 or more from the trade. And then use it to cover the extra #2 to added to place their trade at the top. Hence, the best advice I can give is to avoid accepting trade with any user that claims to negotiate price. Because such comments is always visible on the dashboard before accepting trade with vendors

I never come across dis kind vendors before wey go dey negotiate price with me for chat. The ones I don come across before na those ones wey go show ads outside but when you click to sell your coins, them go alter the price and if you no notice to warn them not to pay you, na so them go pay come stand on their right say na wetin dem use as rate for the final page na him you see so. When I see such thing, I dey quickly tell them say I don screenshot the actual rate them show for ads already and this one na manipulated one and if them go ahead and pay, I go report them, so make them just cancel the order.

About the exchanges not coming into this kind matter, I just feel like say them dey feel too occupied to attend to thousands of cases like this coming to them daily. And this na just naija merchants, e fit be say na so e be for all countries p2p page too. Another reason fit be say the high number of merchants here dey unlike before when we still get other exchanges like Binance, KuCoin, OKX still active on p2p. So the high numbers here no go allow them fit follow up gradually dey penalise all those merchants. I don't really like when someone justify bad behaviour. It is clearly that $1/#1550 why adding the additional 2 or 3 to it. That is fraudulent behavior and it is unhonest character that manipulating the exchange rate to favour themselves and you are justifying such. If he wrote "this trade is negotiable" then he should keep it at the normal exchange rate so if the trader likes to sell, he or she can proceed.
And not when you add extra values and negotiate it to very low price. The $100 you said they removed to recover theirs is not true. And if you are giving an example start with #2,000 and above. As you can see from the negotiations, it is $1/1480 instead of $1/1539 and you know how much is removed from the seller amount. Such behavior is very bad and we must report them.

I totally agree with you what they are doing is wrong and they should be punished for it because I see no reason you say you sell for X and when a customer opens a trade for you you'll go ahead to give him a messy rate Y?? It's outright cheating some will be rude enough to leave the order open locking your coins till the countdown is over. Worse of it all bybit is not even trying to fix it.
Else, freezing their accounts multiple times will stop them from doing It. On a fair note you can use their change in order against them though but it doesn't really sound too ethical.

Point of correction please, because before exaggerating, can you point out where I justified what the vendor did to be good? Because the only thing I can remember was that I was only just trying to point out the observation I noticed in the conversation screenshot you provided above between you and the vendor where he stated the trade was tagged "negotiable" and yet you went ahead to accept it. And at that point it's only left for you to either accept or decline the offer. Nobody forces you. So please, to your information, I never justified this act, and I can never justify the act of anybody taking advantage of others.

OP even in the p2p platform, business can still happen there and from what i saw in one of the images, the vendor said that the initial price was just for advert but that the rate is subject to negotiation, so every vendor is just employing strategy to attract more traders than the other vendors so if you are not willing to negotiate the price with them you just move to the next vendor. I even wonder how people go for vendors that has high rates when those prices can be manipulated when you want to initiate the p2p trade. I tried using one vendor who was advertising a high rate than others but when i saw that it wasn't what was in the advert that i saw when i wanted to initiate the trade, i calmly backed out and choose another vendor so you shouldn't be too greedy by opting for those with high rates, choose vendors that have done a lot of trades and have receive many positive feedbacks from those he has traded with and you are unlikely to face many challenges on p2p platforms.

Why dis p2p vendor dey look like normal thing self? To me I feels say  Dem this guys really sabi wetin dem dey do out there. If we check am out E be like say dem don turn am to updates wey p2p vendor dey use collect from dem trader dem. Most times, I dey experience wahala with p2p, but as e be now, di p2p vendor for centralized exchanges dey try negotiate price after dem don agree on terms. Na why I dey consider some better peaceful practices to dey always and avoid vendors wey dey start negotiations. I dey usually stick to vendors wey dey always follow di prices wey dem advertise. Plus, learn how to use di exchange well, know your way around am. If you notice any vendor dey become uncooperative or dey try scam, e simple, report dem to di exchange and no release funds until payment don complete.

Kai kai kai, wetin Mohammed no go see for gate? Which one in the name of God is negotiating offer? I have literally not heard of it nor encountered this kind of a time waster in the course of doing P2P. Scammers are everywhere but you see these bybit P2P scammers ehn, their lack of conscience need to be studied.

The rate of stupidity among Bybit vendors and the fact that they have a separate p2p orders for people selling with foreign account and local accounts bullshit of late last year made me swear never to use that platform again. I feel Bitget is better than them in terms of scam regulation. The only problem I have encountered in Bitget is incomplete pay and I charged the guy and he paid immediately. Bybit has been cancelled out by me as scammers den with different manifestations. I know I pay some fee in Bitget, but it is negligible compared to the kind of stress encountered on Bybit before I dumped them.

It’s a common occurrence when you trade Bitcoin directly and this behavior isn’t unique to Bybit, you find this on just every other exchange and even when you report to support, they barely do anything about it and so, the practice continues.

Some of them update a too good to be true rate only for you to click and see something different on their bio or some aspect ratio deduction on the note that, Bitcoin is too volatile but, they don’t increase when it pumps. Somehow, Bitcoin never pumps to these guys and they even have the effrontery to warn you that, they don’t cancel trades.

Should the various exchanges take this into consideration, it would do a lot of good in handling this behavior.

So many of these vendors on centralized exchanges are going nuts these days and it is so annoying, i have reported and blocked a couple of them in the last few months. Sometimes they would pay you less than what they should, in the hope that you do not notice, you can imagine how crazy that is, trying to cheat your counterparty in a fair deal/transaction.

That said, who don notice the new one wey dem dey do now, some of them request/beg for a tip of N1000, so they pay you N1000 less and tell you to forfeit it as a tip to them, it has happened to me twice and i stood my ground, i tell them say if dem no send me my 1k, i no go release, and then they use this line: "baba you don pass 1k na," i no still gree oh, until they sent me my complete funds, then i released.
