I forgot my feather wallet password. There were no funds in it, but I would still like to use it. I don't have the seed phrase. What should I do? I am using a linux desktop.

I have not anymore using linux desktop for 15 years so I am not the bet to give insights... I doubt there is any function that could save passowrd or whatever from software.
The real question at least to me should be: why you're trying to recover a password if its just empty?
I would say: don't wast time and move further to a new one... indeed you cannot even backup without a private key...

Don't waste your time since there's no funds in it, create a new wallet on electrum desktop and store the seedphrase properly this time.....

There are "softwares" that allows to manage passwords, I was referring to these.
Recovery tools requires a lot of efforts to setup and so on (I don't think there is something free for feather wallet and I would double check...)
Even on that, if the text has 8+ characters and special ones it requires many years to find the solution.
Generally, I will never suggest this to any basic user there are already people offering this service in a professional way.
Of course these has a costs, but in any case you have to count monetary or time as a cost.

If the password is getting longer, the chance to recover it is reducing. 8 characters long password that has numbers, alphabets in upper and lower cases, and one or more other characters like .!;:'_/$# is hard to brute force, that is the reason such passwords are recommended. But if the the password is short like not more than 4 characters, it will be easy to brute force.

If you have long password but you remember some characters and only remain like 3 or 4 characters that are missing, a recovery tool can also be helpful.

You not recalling the password and not properly keeping the seedphrase shows its being years you went there.
If you sure there's nothing there, I see no reason why you can't create another of said wallet.
And this time properly protect your seedphrase.

I have not used feather wallet before but their website explicitly states it is.

Feather is a Monero wallet.

Currently, Monero's default seed phrase size is 16 words long, which is uncommon for Bitcoin, so you can tell the difference.

But since you don't have the seed phrase and the wallet is empty, ignore the existing wallet and create a new one. Take a piece (or two) of paper and write down the seed phrase. If you forget the password you still have the seed phrase to recover the funds. This is how it should work.

It should be useless complete this activity - make another installation of the wallet.
You should be able to launch an existing seed phrase even without re-installing the software. follow the standard process for importing a new wallet.
by the way, this would be close to useless since its empty. you can just create a new one and avoid any difficulty.

What bitbollo said, but also pay attention to the following:

1. don't delete the existing wallet even if you don't remember the password. Just ignore it and create a new one.
2. try to remember if the existing wallet was sent to anyone who could potentially pay you. If so, you need to keep trying to remember the password.
3. don't send funds to the existing wallet. I guess, since you don't remember the password that you can't open it to copy a receiving address anyway.
4. copy the seed phrase of the new wallet. I suggest two copies stored on paper in different secure places.

The best thing you could have hoped for with a forgotten seed phrase is an empty wallet. I agree with the other posters saying you should simply make a new wallet and this time do not forget to backup the seedphrase, otherwise you will not be able to ever again access any of your funds in that wallet. If you need help setting it up you can ask me any questions you might have. And don't be shy about it either, better to ask what seems a stupid question than make a mistake that could lose you your money.

That makes more sense. I got confused by this topic being in a Bitcoin board and was already starting to think of what kind of Bitcoin wallet feather wallet supposedly even is, as I have never even heard of it before...  

For Monero I still use the official Monero GUI wallet, but a little tip for newbies: your antivirus might flag it as a false positive. If you delete or quarantine any files your anti-virus asks you to, then the wallet functionality will be impaired.
