Low engagement in threads, high influx of new thread.

Una Welldone, and happy weekend to everyone. This post would be honest and raw, it is coming from a good place in my heart and one that want to see this our local board growing.

The board has been active no doubt and na we all they put in our collective contribution to am.
Early yesterday morning I noticed an interesting post that I said I will come back to when I am less busy because I was in a public transport, so when I had chance on my hand I noticed that the interesting post had low engagement and it has quickly gone down.

This is a call for everyone to engage more in post that starting your own post, if you engage in post it will
+ Make the board very active
+ Limit repetition of post that may have been dropped before as a result cutting spamming
+ Give quality time for interesting post to be viewed by other members
+Give the board a better direction.
+ E go encourage those who dey make better post

You do well for this post. Honestly, i don get exactly this same thing for mind, but i intentionally no wan create thread for am because i no want situation wey anybody go come drag me say i dey against people creating new threads. No be say to create thread dey bad, but i don notice say most people dey actually recycle threads instead of going to a thread related to what they are trying to say and just drop their opinions there so that people fit deliberate on them. Everybody get wetin to talk but the truth be say no be by to go create new thread because if everybody dey create thread everyday, trust me, instead of being active, this LB go just dey scatter scatter, and that means double work for Moderator. Abeg if the topic no be something of pure relevance, make we just freestyle am abeg cos since them appoint new merit sources, i don dey observe unusual flooding of the local board with new topics, I'm not saying all the threads are irrelevant, some are and some are nothing but vain repetition of already existing threads. Abeg make we make amends

The influx of many threads is actually the reason for pushing good threads away not the other way round. You see threads that has very little or no need for it's existence coming up daily. Most are pure repetition of threads already in existence. These new threads continuously push the old good threads down except the pinned ones. The moderators can not pin all the good threads, it is left for users to engage actively in them and for users to minimise the rate at which they create threads.

Before you create a thread, try to check down the pages to see if there are topics of equal goal and direction. Threads are consistently coming out and most of them are not what should occupy a thread. People need to read and understand a given thread topic in order to post, not because they want to sustain the thread on the top they go ahead to make low quality posts.

Moderators should tighten the ease of creating new threads and delete or suspend those threads that have little or no need for it's existence. There's almost no topic you would have interest in without finding no thread that may have focused on such matters.

Let's help our Naija Local board so that we won't raise multiple threads without reasonable good posts or repeat threads unnecessarily.

This is mainly because of the appointment of new merit sources in the Naija local board. Many members are starting new threads to attract the attention of merit sources. Some of them are relevant and good threads, but many are repetitive or unnecessary posts. Most of the threads created in the last few days are garbage and irrelevant.

The main problem that has created this problem is that after the appointment of merit sources, Naija members have become eager for more merit. Even a big problem of our Naija board is that they do not value commenters very much but rather value OPs. So maybe everyone is competing to be OP. Maybe we will get a solution to this problem very soon from our moderator and some steps must be taken so that fragrant flowers are not buried in the crowd of garbage.

I agree new thread's are created especially from the low ranked members with the hopes of getting Merits to them the more new thread that they create the higher there chances of getting merits but this was not supposed to be so because one thing about this forum is contributing your quoter as this is a place where everyone contribute something and also learn something



We should look beyond getting Merits because the aim of any one creating any new threads should not be limited to getting Merits only but the information that you are trying to pass on in a view to creating awareness concerning Bitcoin

If merit sources can focus more on those that are making more input in a thread than those that create threads, it will limit the many new threads that are being created in the local board. Am not saying that topics should not be given merits if they are of quality but it seems some users and merit sources only reads the contents of OP and neglect those that make replies on the topic which is to say that many people do not care about the replies of others, they are only concerned in the OP. You will see threads that the replies of users are more quality and informative than the contents of the OP but such replies will not earn any merit but the OP will receive a lot of Merits, tell me why others won't copy that same pattern and also start creating topics.
