What happened to Ravencoin today?

I see that Ravencoin went up 70% today. I have no idea what would have caused this though while all other assets seemed to be melting down. Was this just some sort of pump and dump group or was there some actual news behind this? Anybody have any idea? I’m not a big Ravencoin holder or anything, just curious.

Sometimes a project gets a random dead cat bounce here and there — no narrative, no catalyst, it just happens. Not every pump needs a “valid” reason.

This is common to altcoins but I guess it can be the South Korean interest in the altcoin that caused it, but not just that but it trading volume that increased can lead to the breakout as other people like traders become interested and buy which makes the coin increased but it has fallen significantly.

It increased to $0.0235 from $0.01, but now the coin is at $0.014. Which means it has fallen significantly also. This is how altcoins are easily manipulated.

It's just a usual pump that comes from the Upbit listing bro. Nothing surprised me when Rvn gets 70% up after the listing. I remember other token called LA is also getting 300% up after Upbit listing.

Yes, this is what I also as well. Regardless though, if you have been in the altcoin market, it's obvious that there will be some jumps along the way. Not just Ravencoin, there are countless altcoins in the past that once they listed, the price soar.

But then again, after that, the price will go down hard. And again, that's how it is, there could be some manipulation from behind.

And for sure, there are investors who makes a lot of money from all of this pump and dump scheme.

So it seems that many of its follower or community got hype on the idea about this listing then think about that better days for Revencoin is coming that's why it experience a surprisingly pump nowadays.

Maybe let see if this is consistent grown and not a short time pump, but somehow this is good development since Ravencoin create a hype due to its recent development happened unto it.

This is not surprising on Ravencoin.

Check its price history zoom out and you will notice that there’s a lot of instances that this token pump hard out of nowhere after being dead for a long time.

AFAIK they have a small community that pump the coin price whenever there’s significant updates on the project.

Wow that's cool. Price is still worth buying, if it pumped like this as it just starts, maybe it will shoot to another ATH again. An investor just need to hold millions of it as it goes $0.20 again.  Easypeasy all you do is wait.

Bitget seem to be the next exchange that makes announcements and then make the price go crazy. There's just no way of seeing whether the exchange is the one going to be dumping it to their users.

There was a video on the internet that explained how scammers selects altcoins they have interest in pumping and then dump it. It's not a new form of scam, what they do is, go through the tokens contract address, identify inactive and active wallet that are holding the token, how much of the token they are holding so that they can know the amount of liquidity they will put into the market, they also look at the market activity of the token to see the population that has recently bought or sold the token. After doing all this findings and it really meets their target, what they do is to organize themselves in groups (they work in group of 40 and more) and add liquidy to see buyers reactions and once they see buyers stepping in, they continue to add liquidy and observe how the buyers and sellers are responding to the bait, once they see any slit pressure of sell, they be the first to dump the market, causing loses to those that rushed it to buy. Maybe that's what happened.

Now it is even higher than before...  If there's one thing I've learned about Ravencoin over the years, it is that it has a tendency to pump from time to time.  We're about 100% up from the day before I made this thread now and it remains to be seen if we make a run for $0.1 like has been done in the past.  Again, I'm not a big holder or anything, but as a fan of Patrick Byrne I always keep an eye on what it is up to.  I do mine a little bit with my GPUs also.

Ravencoin up another 20% and I can’t find a single reason why this is happening. Seems a bit extended of a run to just blame pump and dump groups on the internet. We’re talking hundreds of millions of dollars in market cap added in the last week. Seems like something is happening to the most popular GPU PoW coin.

Bitcoin is still pumping. I believe most of Ravencoin in the past is always in sync with the Bitocin pump.

Ravencoin is pumping earlier while Bitcoin made a good run to ATH  until now.mi believe holders is still in greed mode to hold and buy more since the market is bullish.

It’s just risky to keep holding this long term given that coin has a history of pump and dump. For sure a lot will sell when the hype is over so just squeeze profit when you have opportunity.
