The 2025–26 UEFA Conference League is the fifth season of the UEFA Conference League, Europe's tertiary club football tournament organised by UEFA.
Format change
The group stage has been replaced by a league stage. Instead of the 32 teams, 36 teams participate in the league stage.
In the league stage, each team plays six different teams—three at home and three away—to create a 36-team standings.
According to the standings, the top eight teams advance to the Round of 16, while the 16 teams from 9th to 24th advance to the knockout stage playoff round, while the bottom 12 teams are eliminated.
Ongoing format
The previous season's UEFA Conference League champions qualify for the league stage of the UEFA Europa League.
Teams eliminated in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League qualify for the UEFA Conference League.
Teams eliminated before the league stage of the UEFA Europa League qualify for the UEFA Conference League.
Round and draw dates
The schedule of the competition is as follows.Matches are scheduled for Thursdays, with an exclusive day of 18 December, apart from the final, which takes place on a Wednesday, though exceptionally can take place on Tuesdays or Wednesdays due to scheduling conflicts.
