How rampant are scams on this forum?

Scammers target newbies because it's very easy to convince them to fall into scams. Because mostly newbies are quite greedy, and they can't control their emotions when they see something where quick-rich or easy-money-making methods are involved. On the other hand, newbies aren't aware of scamming methods here; they don't know how to verify real or fake things.

Scammers don't DM Hero or Legendary because scammers know they are experienced in the forum culture. They know very well how scammers try to scam us. So it's a hard task for scammers and would be a waste of time. They try with newbies, and sometimes they succeed in scamming them as well.

I've received pms as an Sr Member from newbies or random accounts in the past that were obvious scam attempts. Higher ranked users are usually more experienced, but usually such scammers also aim for numbers, the most users they approach, the higher the chances of scamming someone.

I consider this forum quite safe in terms of scammers. Discord for instance is filled with them, apart from some sketchy and shady services that are sometimes advertised, mostly by new accounts, it's quite rare to be approached by a scammer himself.

Everyone should be very careful in this forum as a lot of people here are just actively planning on scamming other people, and a lot of people have already been scammed

Scam comes in different ways, but most people are victims of scams for two major reasons: 1. Greed and 2. Gullibility. Remove these two, and you will hardly be scammed.

In fact fraudsters always take advantage of people's weaknesses when a person is blinded by the greed of getting rich quickly and easily, they lose the ability to think logically. They fall into the trap of unrealistic offers or unusually high returns which are actually nothing more than a scam truly a warning to everyone. If one can eliminate these two things that is refrain from excessive greed and do not trust anyone without verification then the risk of being cheated is greatly reduced.

Some scammers would DM high-ranked users as well, but it's very rare. I assume you haven't fallen into that scam, so the scammer knows it's not easy to convince high-ranking users. Another reason a scammer may avoid a high rank is because of a report. When I have seen such a message, I have been using the report to admin button. This means they will definitely get a ban, either temporary or permanent. But mostly newbies don't know about reporting to admins, and they might become greedy as well.

You are right, scam cases and attempts are not isolated, and as I read in one of your earlier posts, it's everywhere, targeting everyone, it's we who need to be careful and continue to inform the gullible ones, which @Skjadoon is also trying to pass across.

And of course, they will seldom attempt the old users (not only the reputable ones), because they know they are well-experienced, but newbies. I received enough attempts in my first 8 months of joining the forum, and some would not even come in the form of selling anything, but a harmless partnership, before it goes south.

Either way, anyone you don't know from Adam is a potential threat on the internet.

That is correct and you right I could remembered then when I join here newly I do have series of messages on telegram asking me about investment platform were I could seat at home and make money for myself without me bothering myself, at some point I wanted to give it a trial till had to know that if this was so much real this said user wouldn't want to share with me instead s/he would go park all their family members to come join and do such investment and why me. That was how I got to suspect that he is not real and scammer, what next? I just have to block him entirely and immediately he uses another profile to chat me again then I had to block again before I was able to make concentrate.

The most normal offer coming to Telegram from strangers may be an offer to become their referral. They are ready to teach you everything you need, but if you do not find yourself the same naive people, your earnings are unlikely to please you. This was a few years ago, when it was necessary to perform various downloads on a configured virtual machine. Now, you will not see even such small penny earnings; scammers realized that they need to look for newcomers and fool them until they understand that they are being lied to.
