I think we all have some experience where we gamble more frequently at some point in our lives. I guess it's safe to say, that is the point where we can consider we got addicted to gambling. Luckily, we were able to overcome it as we are able to minimize our gambling urges now as we grow old having a lot of financial responsibilities.
That is the kind of gambling addiction that are within our control.
Gambling becomes a problem when we lose control of ourselves. Although I have not been addicted before, I can't feel the real situation of being addicted. But I believe we still can overcome that situation if we are committed to change. I understand it was not too easy, but we can still do it. Perhaps we don't need an instant change.

We need to put in our minds the consequences of gambling. That is why we should not focus on gambling to avoid getting hooked on addiction. Gambling is full of temptation, and if we let this happen, that will surely bring us to disaster.

This question is for those gamblers that were once addicted to gambling and was able to come out from addiction.

How did you go about it?

Was someone there to help you out or you took the bold step all alone?

How long did your addiction last?

What's your best advice to gamblers fighting with addiction?
I didn't but I've known friends in real life that went this fight.

I helped them through advising that they should find another outlet to release their addiction and use their time gradually forgetting gambling.

It's not easy but you'll get there, keep on fighting and have the will to get out of it because if you don't do it. You'll be the one to take the consequence of it.

You are right, when self control starts to slip gambling can be a big problem. We cannot really compare what it feels like to be stuck in it, but this does not imply that we should wait until we find ourselves at the bottom, to experience that. This is where we come in trying to prevent it before it is too late. As long as we are able to instill the fear of the adverse consequences, the likelihood of not being caught up becomes bigger.

There are cases when temptation is more powerful than logic at least when we feel lucky. However, when we simply leave it on this way, pleasure borders with annihilation. I think that all people can be transformed just provided that they have the guts to say that they are bad and they need to change. We cannot suddenly change our lives to a better one but we need to have the strength to say enough and be counted on before it is too late.

It is best to quit when you start to see signs that it is becoming an addiction. You can notice if gambling causes anxiety, stress, or discomfort. Generally, you tend to have excessive losses, so I recommend you escape from that situation and focus on other things to change your behavior. Generally, if you stop in time, you will avoid falling into addiction and be able to play again in a controlled manner.

The problem is that it's difficult to stop on time when you are making Profit, a lot of addicted gamblers I know got hooked because they made a lot of Profit when they started gambling. Addiction doesn't start in a day, it can take days, weeks and months. When it becomes a repetitive pattern it means that your brain have gotten used to it. When you feel anxiety when you are gambling because you are scared to lose then there's a problem

The truth is that people know it when they are gradually becoming addicted and like you said, addiction doesn't just start in a day,  it takes a graduall process and by right the individual is supposed to know that they are getting addicted because they must have started doing some abnormal things like chasing losses, gambling with the amount they can not afford to lose and also not being able to stay out of gambling for one day. I once said that a gambler should always reflect on their pattern of gambling all the time, it will help them quickly realize it when they doing wrong thing.

Not admitting a gambling addition challenge only helps makes the gambler addict situation worse. However, getting to lose much more than one wins isn't really a thing of addiction though, because you can be gambling responsibly and still be making so much losses with predictions.
We must understand that there are gambler who aren't aware of addiction. So I'm not surprised if some gamblers don't admit that they are addicted. That's why the role of family members are needed here. They are the people who can remind the addicts!

Yep, losing more isn't a sign of addiction. If we aren't lucky, we must experience losing more. This is also the reason that many gamblers prefer to gamble for fun. It is the way to deal with experiencing losses. Set the limits is also the way to avoid severe losses.
Am knowing this for the first time that there are gamblers who don't know that addiction exists. Except for underage, if you're 18+ you should know about addiction in gambling because that's the reason for the warning from the gambling platforms about gambling responsibly to gamblers.

Gambling for fun could be helpful in preventing one self from falling into addiction though but you still have to apply some discipline on yourself because too much fun can be toxic too.

It is very easy to get addicted to gambling, and here people get addicted to gambling without knowing it and often face big losses, gambling is designed in such a way that people can easily get overly tempted and lose control, here you have to control everything on your own responsibility. Because casinos are never responsible for your big losses, because casinos did not force you to gamble, rather you yourself have continued to gamble irresponsibly after being deeply tempted by the casino, as a result of which you have had to face big losses. Therefore, when it comes to gambling, you must play according to discipline, limitations and rules, otherwise you may have to face more losses than you can afford.

No, and the truth is I have been very far from being one What always stops me from being addicted is money because I don't allow myself to lose more than I am willing to, and in my beginnings as a player, whenever I lost a considerable amount of money, that was my biggest obstacle, This should be the case for everyone in general, and so they take great care of their finances.

Yeah coming out of gambling addiction is always very hard for some people but with time they will definitely go through it, this is why we are advised to gamble responsible due to the sake of being addicted to it because is not always that easy to let go without his Grace, I'm saying this base on my experience so far about a guy who was addicted to a point where he was finding it hard to let go regardless the advice that was given to him. not that he don't have the Remise to change rather he don't know where to start from and I could imagine the feeling so is better we don't go beyond our limit of gambling to avoid facing this difficulties.
