Apple (and Play) Stores are hosting scam wallet apps.

though the apple store and google play have systems in place to filter the apps that enter their platforms, there are still apps that can bypass these filters. this is especially true if they use clever masking techniques or hide malicious functions behind seemingly normal features, making it more difficult for the system to detect them. so it is not surprising that many malicious applications can stay active for quite a long time and manage to deceive or hack users’ devices. therefore, it is important not to install applications carelessly and to only download wallet apps directly from the official website.

Y'all gotta remember that Apple Store and Google play store are not as secure as you think they are , I even heared that there are malwared crypto-robbing apps on IOS or Android by using your optical character recognition software development kit to take your seed phrases. Few days ago I have read a news fraud Trezor application that have stolen up to 1.6 million dollars in the form of BTC. So you should take precautions like using the official github for fixing defective wallets . If your holding a lot of Bitcoin you should grab a hardware wallet like Trezor Safe 3 and ledger and open the passcode. 25th word-seed alone is obv not enough to keep scammers out.

No only this but those users who decide to use a wallet-app which are on mobile are susceptible to having their devices hijacked via sim swap or sophisticated malware created for such intent.
You hear about these hacks happening quite frequently that they are a common occurrence and has become the norm.

It's so common, it's not funny, you could also add extension stores. Regarding Apple app store particularly, people have this idea that it's stringent with it's security measures so they are kind of less wary as they need to be.

I watched video, guy wanted convenience, he could have sent some btc in mobile wallet for convenience purposes but no, he had to import seed containing 7 btc, it's absolute comedy.

Do not get lure into downloading a wallet because of the reviews on the play store or Apple Store, those figures can be manipulated.

Anyone with large amounts of bitcoin in self-custody should be using the passphrase feature IMO,
so they can't steal your bitcoin with just the seedphrase alone. It is your last line of defense.

It's not about using passphrase or any other extra security including multi sig, once you installed the fake apps, they can gain access into your smartphone.

the most dangerous way of downloading softwares has got to be from chrome

there would be extensions or apps that you can download from chrome and i would suggest for no one to try this because it can literally be anything damaging

i am surprised to see that apple has scam apps when they are known for being a secure one due to exclusivity but play store having fake apps is not surprising
