Doesn't this sound like a lose lose situation? The US spends billions to deport people that were mostly labourers, the economy shrinks from the demand side but also from the production side because many of these people were putting in the work to assist many essential parts of US production...

It really does sound like a lose lose situation, but I thought that most deported immigrants are criminals and people living off of welfare. Maybe this is just Trump propaganda for the rednecks. I've heard studies stating that the USA has a pretty high effective unemployment rate(many people working part-time should be considered partially unemployed). Deporting more immigrants would allow many people, who are working part-time to move to a full-time job(there will be a shortage of cheap labor). This is the only positive thing, that I can think of, as a result of the mass deportations. 170 billion being spent for mass deportation isn't such a big deal. The US federal budget is huge(several trillion dollars).

Yeah, it really feels like one of those things where the short-term “job creation” from building centers and hiring more agents looks good on paper, but the long-term math doesn’t add up. You might boost a local economy near a new detention facility, sure, but losing thousands of farm workers or construction crews hits way harder. It drives up food prices, slows down projects, and small businesses end up paying more. Kinda seems like the government is spending billions just to create new problems that cost even more to fix later.

When discussing this topic, we can see two opposing sides: some who support illegal immigrants and others who believe Trump was right to deport them. Personally, I believe that illegal immigrants are still illegal. No matter how you look at it, they arrived unlawfully, breaking the law from the moment they set foot in the US, so the country has the right to deport them to protect its sovereignty and security. However, Trump's actions were also not entirely correct, as the process separated many children from their parents, ignored asylum seekers, and politicized the issue to garner support in the recent election.

Nevertheless, the issue of illegal immigration inevitably needs to be addressed, as it could potentially displace more local residents and lead to even more serious problems. At the same time, human rights considerations should also play an important role in finding a balanced solution.

But they are illegals. They never had the right to live in the US. If the US economy really needed those people, they could ease their immigration policies. Two wrongs don’t make a right. An illegal is an illegal. If it takes millions of dollars to fix Biden’s mistake, so be it. That’s what the American people wanted from Trump anyway. That’s why they voted Trump and Trump is fulfilling his promise.
The people are concerned about the unethical or inhumane way of disposing these immigrants I guess. And America has always been open to other nationalities that a huge part of american's culture is about diversity and their economy is ran by a lot of immigrants. Should USA close the borders or should they just have a better system for immigrants?

The sudden disposal of immigrants will have effects on the economy especially a lot of the immigrants are already working and part of a population.

If you come into my house through the window and you start helping me fix things around the house or do my dishes, it changes nothing, i'd still want you out, because you came in through the window and you are prolly an irrational thief.

This illustration provides a premise to explain the situation, we are talking about illegal migrants here, they are illegal, so it does not matter what good you think they are doing or what economical benefit you feel they bring, it does not change anything, neither does it make their stay legal, so spending money to fix that is as right as it gets.

It’s a conflicting topic because a lot of immigrants are a plus to the economy but equally many are unemployed, getting benefits from the government. It’s a very controversial topic that gets a lot of people very emotional. I am glad I don’t have to take any decisions that affect people like this.

While I still do agree that everyone should live in their own nation, and only legal applications should be considered, and illegal immigration should be zero all around the world, that example is wrong. It's more like, lets say there are killers outside, and someone jumps through your window, to protection, and starts helping you out as a thank you.

I mean your options are ; send them back to where killers are, or accept the help they provide in return. But the issue is, most of them do not just help you out, they also ruin your home, and act as if they are entitled to that home too now. That is why they want them out, but also I do not want to send them back to where they had trouble, so I am a bit confused on this subject I have to be honest. I want them out, but I want them safe, get it? Not sure if that can be done, but that's what I want.
