Bybit P2P transaction fees update

We are updating Bybit P2P for the Nigerian Naira (NGN) market. Starting Sept 8, 2025, Makers posting NGN buy ads will be subject to transaction fees. This update is part of our ongoing efforts to maintain a fair and sustainable P2P trading environment.

Who is affected?
Bybit P2P trading involves two roles:

- Takers: Users who buy or sell cryptocurrencies by selecting existing advertisements on the Bybit P2P platform.

- Makers: Users who create and post advertisements to buy or sell cryptocurrencies.

Fees for Takers: Takers will continue to enjoy zero transaction fees on Bybit P2P. However, fees from third-party payment providers may apply based on the selected payment method.

Fees for Makers: Makers posting NGN buy ads will be subject to transaction fees based on their advertiser level.

The update mainly concerns traders who create ads on Bybit. The fees they will be charged for posting ads depend on their advertiser's level. General advertisers will be charged a fee of 0.3%, verified advertisers will be charged a fee of 0.275%, while block advertisers will be charged a fee of 0.25%. Only buying ads will be charged fee. Sell ads will not be charged any fee according to what I saw on the table.

Those that are not posting ads but just want to buy and sell will not be changed any fee. But those that have the buying ads may let the price of dollar to slightly be higher just because of this so that the 0.275 to $0.3% fee will not affect them but affect people that wants to buy coins using naira on the P2P is what I think. So, those that did not post ads but just want to buy may indirectly be affected.

Just like most p2p marketplaces, when Binance stopped charging fees on P2p marketplaces, they had to offer the same functionality to avoid losing their top merchants to Binance.  I've always known that the day Bybit dominates the market, they will bring back p2p fees.

Almost every CEX P2P Marketplace did back then, that was the only way they were making something out of the daily trading activities until Binance turned it to "users" privilege.

For me this was unnecessary after all, many of these buyers there are always trying to scam sellers and now they might want to use this an excuse or even try to reap sellers more. For me sellers should be more careful before releasing any coin especially after this has been implemented.

It is not contradictory. The fee are for only buying ads, but Bybit gave conditions for it. But if you notice Bybit is doing something stupid, there are other good exchanges.

There other exchanges with zero fee like Gate. There are still many other exchanges that are well know that have zero fee.

For me this was unnecessary after all, many of these buyers there are always trying to scam sellers and now they might want to use this an excuse or even try to reap sellers more. For me sellers should be more careful before releasing any coin especially after this has been implemented.

I always thought that those buyers who puts Ads pay some certain amount of fee, so it has been free all this while. Bybit is an exchange that is regularly used for p2p so the company should have put up these few before now. Buyers who has such ads make not quickly accept this or see it as unfair but in the bigger picture even to get a blue tick on any social media now you pay a fee, so nothing is free .

Many people will not see this early but it will happen gradually. They have started with buying ads now but what if the selling ads will be included later. Then later if those people that are buying and selling without creating ads are affected. This may gradually be what will happen but Bybit may not want to go further yet and use this to know if people will move to other exchanges or not.

If those that are having ads are affected, how will people that are not having ads but just want to buy or sell from those that have ads will not be affected? I think they will also be affected because the fee will affect those that create the ads and the people that have the ads will push the fee on those that just come to buy and sell that did not create the ad.

I know the difference, I was only referring to how this will even aid the tendency to scam sellers because they will want to cover up for these charges and possibly even want more.
