Now my questions are:
What am I not doing right?
How can I avoid buyers like this when trading P2P on Bybit?

I really want to know what to look out for because P2P trading is beginning to scare me. What if I end up trading with a fraudulent person wanted by the government?
Well this exchange p2p has been a problem lately but I know how to follow them. The thing is that they are usually the top buyers on the list with higher price than others but when you see the top buyers be careful because they are scammers, they put fake price as ads and when you click them to place an order the price will not even change, but when you click the amount you want to sell the. The price changes automatically and thereby reduced from the initial price on the ads. Maybe of it was #1496 it wil mow change to #1400 and if you don't look closely to observe that the price have changed, you will go ahead and place the order and you will eventually lose money. So the best way is to look at their ratting, to see the buyers with good percentage of trade before you initiate a deal. And before you click on sell button please make sure you wait for like 1 minutes to see if things change. But if nothing changes then you place your order. And secondly when a buyers click the release bottom claiming that he has send you money just wait to see if the money lands in your account in less than 5 minutes but failure to see and after sometimes then you can file an appeal.

You are already taking good care of the matter when you double-check payments and opening disputes rather than hurrying to release coins. The major thing that you missed is not procedure, it is caution and strict adherence to safety rules of P2P.

To keep improving these could help:

• Do not release crypto if you have not confirmed payment is truly in your bank account. Overlook receipts and screenshots.
• Trade just with users that are verified having good completion rates and positive feedback.
• Remain around the platform chat, try not to take conversation to WhatsApp or even Telegram.
• Endeavor to avoid negotiating as soon as price is agreed; fraudulent people uses it to make way for confusion
• Report every suspicious user allowing Bybit to investigate.
If you trade with anyone wanted by authorities, when you remain on platform and go by the rules, you are protected legally. The off-platform deals exposes you to real risk.

I will advice that you check on their profile to truly know if he is good at paying fast and complete, and you can even check his rating there, that way you can easily know a scammer or a wrong person to trade with.

. What if I end up trading with a fraudulent person wanted by the government?
Who you trade with may be out of your control, but what is within your control is how you react to it, so when you know that you are trading with a wrong person, you just have to stay vigilant and pay attention to every details, and even after making payment, make sure your money is complete, if not don't ever release.

And finally, in all your do while trading on p2p, don't ever do any negotiation with any p2p vendors outside the platform or through the contact  customer platform. If he is not ok with the price he should cancel the trade, simple.

Sometimes it can be very difficult to identify this scammers earlier until you guys start transacting before you start noticing some suspicious move if you are that sensitive enough to understand, however their are some signs that is likely seen in this scammers which are :

-When you start noticing some kind of pressure in releasing funds just know you are about to be scamm.

-When higher figure is been display on their advert just no they want to entice you with price and scam you at the process.

-when they start giving excuses in dalay of payment.

Most importantly it's very important to carefully check the actual figures been payed to avoid short payment, because most of them love using the pattern, they will short pay you and when you find out and ask them they will claim it's a mistake.

You see Bybit ehn, Dem be baba for P2P scam, scam exists in virtually every exchange but Bybit before get PHD for am wey make me run commot there enter Bitget. No be say I no fit deal with them but at the end Dem dey waste a lot of my time. In addition to what Charles-tim has said, check for those that had the best average release time, they're the ones that don't always attempt so much to steal because anyone that tries scamming, the back and forth with the seller would extend the release time. I would also advise you not to go for vendors that their payment duration is above 20 minutes, in case the person na time waster you go just wait for the time to count finish before you find another vendor wey serious.
I have heard alot people talking about Bybit p2p scam though i never encounter any of the scammers, me before i do any trading like that i dey try cheek those things way Charles-tim talk about, after then again before i go release any coin out to you i go make sure say i don see my payment and i go still confirm well if na fake u run for me or not  before you see me release coin for you, we need dey very careful when we dey trade for Bybit p2p to prevent getting scammed.

After a series of dealings with these Bybit scammers, I have for the past few weeks now not come into contact with them because I have made it my character to only be dealing with my previous traders, which I did not have issues with, by just going through my trade history, picking one of them, and checking if they have online ads.

The next set of traders I prefer to deal with, aside from their fast payment, are those labeled as "institutions," meaning their business names have been verified with Bybit. Even while dealing with them, I'm still very careful; they pay fast, but some can be tricky, so you always have to verify if their sending account details match with the verified merchant name.

Recently, I’ve been having some challenges with P2P trading on Bybit Exchange. I’ve encountered a few people who I believe are scammers trying to take advantage of me.

The first buyer (scammer) I dealt with tried to negotiate the value of my transaction. He claimed that Bybit had started deducting money from transactions and pleaded to pay me an amount lower than what I was supposed to receive.

The second buyer claimed that I (the seller) had been credited and that I should release the coin to him. He even sent a fake payment receipt, but when I checked my bank account, I hadn’t received any funds. Realizing he was trying to scam me, I opened a dispute and cancelled the transaction.

Now my questions are:
What am I not doing right?
How can I avoid buyers like this when trading P2P on Bybit?

I really want to know what to look out for because P2P trading is beginning to scare me. What if I end up trading with a fraudulent person wanted by the government?
The best approach should be to always stick with those people whom you are familiar with and have had several successful transactions with and you should not ever try to deal with people whose identity and manner of transactions are quite questionable or seem fraudulent, this way you be able to detect people with sinister motive or fraudster who may be trying to reap you off your money.

Exactly, P2P trading is all about being in charge from your side, no one should tell you what to do, especially in terms of releasing funds when you haven't confirmed it on your side because it's not done that way except you want to lose your money.
But it's very crucial for one to asks questions when they don't understand some certain things during trading because it's also help to be able to avoid mistakes or be able to detect when it's a scammer or not. So trade smooth and be smart because it keeps you safe.

Try to be checking the buyer's or the seller's profile like the average release and completion time, completed orders in the last 30 days and the completion rate within the 30 days which should be of high percentage close to 100%. Also check the person's reviews.

That can help to a huge extent but those are not 100% guaranteed if you are using Bybit, maybe you can try other exchanges also and not stay on one exchange.
you have to only trade with approved and trusted users, always check their ratings and transaction history and do not not accept offers outside of the platform.possibly use the escrow system for payment to ensure your finances are secure.Do not share your personal or bank details carelessly and lastly you have to report any suspicious activity with immediate effect if noticed to ensure your guaranteed safety.

I do not stay with one person or few people, I transaction with people with good reputation and that has one of the best rate. If you stay with just one person, that means you are a newbie in it.
