Since President Bola Ahmed Tinubu assumed office, one recurring trend has been his frequent foreign trips. These journeys, often presented as "investor-seeking" or "diplomatic engagements," have so far produced little to no visible impact on Nigeria’s struggling economy.

While ordinary Nigerians grapple with the rising cost of food, transportation, and basic necessities, billions of naira from taxpayers’ money are being channeled into funding presidential entourages, luxury accommodation, and foreign expenses. Yet, unemployment remains high, inflation continues to bite, and the naira weakens by the day.

A true leader does not measure success by the number of stamps in his passport, but by the tangible improvements in the lives of his people. The question every Nigerian must now ask is simple: What is the return on investment for Tinubu’s constant foreign trips?

The resources wasted on endless travel could instead be invested in power, healthcare, education, agriculture, and industries that would directly benefit Nigerians. We need a president who works from home, builds the economy from within, and puts citizens above personal image-building abroad.

Nigeria cannot afford another government that spends more on show than on substance.
