If you say that a decade or 2 decades ago, that might be done quite easily because technology is very different than what it is now. This time, it's very different.

Casino ads have been very rampant, and they're maximizing these different social media platforms thru advertising their websites in all over them. On the other hand, there are these young kiddos that are into social media as well, and they're spending hours and hours on it just doomscrolling, and it came to a point where parents are having a hard time stopping them. Not all though because I still believe that there are some parents that are doing a very good job when it comes to keeping their children away from these gambling websites. There are some though that I consider as IRRESPONSIBLE, and they just let their kids be exposed in these kinds of ads.

Limited exposure to social media thru limiting their time of using smartphones. This is one of the solutions that I'm seeing so that they'll not get exposed into these gambling websites.

Parents have a huge role in this because kids are naturally curious and they will explore anything they stumble on if it looks fun or rewarding and the problem with gambling sites is they are designed to look attractive and entertaining which can easily pull in a young mind if there is no guidance at home. The internet made it so much easier for teens to get access compared to the old days when you had to physically enter a casino now just a phone and a click can take them to a gambling app and once curiosity takes over it’s hard to pull them back without proper rules that is why parents really need to be proactive instead of just trusting that their kids “won’t do it”.

Early exposure can definitely lead to habits that become serious problems later studies already show that teens who gamble casually often end up with bigger gambling issues as adults so prevention at an early stage is way better than trying to fix the addiction later. Parents need to be involved not just in blocking sites but in guiding their kids towards safer hobbies and teaching financial responsibility so they don’t get carried away by the idea of “easy money” in the first place.

Children are not allowed to gamble as per the terms, so if they are faking it then they are committing a crime and most often it is not possible for a casino to do anything so parents should teach their kids about moral value instead of focusing on one particular thin,g because if they do then it brings out the exact oppostie outcome because it creates curiousity for the kids so they might want to check it out more than a normal condition.

Well, I think there needs to be equal responsibility on both sides here, if you just put the responsibility on one person, it won't be a solution. I think the most important thing for parents is awareness and education. Children need to be explained from a young age what gambling is, why it is risky.  Many times, children use their parents cards to bet online and if there is no supervision here, it can cause great harm.

On the other side, I think casino sites should put a lot of emphasis on KYC. Although there are many sites that do not require KYC verification. However, I think if KYC verification is followed very strictly, it is possible to keep children away from gambling at least a little. Another thing I think is the most important is that many routers have an option called Parental Control, if you turn it on you can set which sites children can visit and which sites they cannot visit. I think this can be very beneficial for parents.

And it's also in the same sentiment social media is a business they are more into money making partners, though they should take the responsibility knowing that they've got a lots of underaged/young viewers, they need to take it into account.
