A weird belief among some gamblers.

So why this belief or do you think it could be true? Or is it one of those superstitious belief among gamblers?
Do you feel cool sharing your predictions with other people and how has the outcome been looking at all the times you have shared your predictions with others?

There are superstitious gamblers and their beliefs are very ridiculous like what you narrated, it doesn't make sense that sharing how you placed your bet can change your luck. I guess they somehow believe that since lesser bettors wins their bets compared to multitudes that will lose and they want to be among the few. Buy sharing their bet it will increase the number of bettors that will place in the same formation and they will likely lose.

I noticed there are more superstition in lottery, some lottery players will see sets of numbers written somewhere and they will take it as a sign of winning numbers.

The truth is that, a person's life is often shaped by their belief and it really doesn't matter whether the next person feel those beliefs are superstitious or not.

My point, there are people who have been in the business of gambling for years and they have already been shaped by this sort of belief and they actually tend to lose more whenever they share their games with others, and the truth is that it happens to them for real whether or not you believe it or feel they're merely being superstitious.

Not just in gambling, but also other areas of life, our beliefs and values shapes our thinking, as well as actions.

Asides from gambling I've met people that believe that if they share their secrets to what makes them successful it would stop working for them, sometimes I try to understand the logic behind such mindset and I just remember that it can't make sense cause it's superstition.i believe that maturity should eliminate such a way of thinking. In all aspects of gambling including tht lottery, winning is all about luck

And when luck permits and happened that they win it, they'll share things and some of those who read or hear those shared stories will also follow that kind of perceptions, thinking that they may experience same luck from the person who's sharing that information, something that weird in terms of thinking about sharing same luck, but we can't control people's mindsets.

As for finding ways to encounter luck, they will try to find reason and if by fate it did then surely you'll hear them sharing the idea and will generate different reactions from a gambler's  perspectives.

For sure, but i would go as far to say that most people are superstitious when it comes to gambling. They just don't realize it.

Instead of believing that results are linked to destiny, luck (as magical sense), spirits, faith, numerology, psychic predictions or something like that. They instead follow their instinct, or their feeling about the game. They might even believe that changing machines or casinos in some order would bring them more winnings, because it happened once or twice. They also might have a strategy that's based on gambler's fallacy.

I see it as similar belief, but instead of magic, it's just magical thinking that's loosely based on failing logic.

Most often we are a product of our beliefs and these beliefs does manifest because we have invested so much energy in them and one of suchbis with the issue of sharing a news, I have heard and seen people who come off with these kind of experiences and story and  I have seen people who do not care about it and for them it does not matter and so they it does not form part of their beliefs for gambling or anything but I tell people gambling is luck and it has nothing to do with how well you share your picks.

Just imagine that I am refusing to share with someone about bitcoin base on the belief that if I showed them they might come and invest to make money more than me or they might make me to stop making profit in my hodling. Lol.  None of these things can go badly for us by sharing them with others and it should be known that harbouring such superstitious behaviours can be danger that it makes people seem us as someone who can't be of help to them should they be in position of sharing what could be of benefit to them.

There's this scene I witnessed today at a local sport betting house  and I found it very funny and unbelievably true at same time. A certain young man after making his predictions placed his bet and his betting slip was printed to him then another gambler in the house approached him and asked to make a rebet of his games for himself but I was shocked when the young man refused with the excuse that he doesn't share his predictions that sharing it will make him lose his bet. More like having his luck to win reduce or changed maybe because the person he shared his games with could be someone with a bad luck on that day.

Although I have heard of behaviors like this with some gamblers  but I never believe it not until I witnessed it myself today and it was weird to me imagining how you will get to lose your bet by allowing someone else rebet it. In all my years of gambling I believe that a game prediction that will play as predicted will definitely play not regarding the number of people that bet on same prediction.

If the refusal was indeed based on superstition, than I agree that it's a bit silly reasoning. But, at the same time, a lot of people do believe in some sort of "lucky charms", sometimes it starts off as a joke that people start to take more seriously over time, sometimes it's something that's passed down through generations.

But, if that story is true, I would imagine it was more of a knee-jerk reaction and the "bad luck" was just an excuse. In reality, hardly any of us would be willing to share our picks with strangers, especially when it involved hours of analysis etc. There are three main factors at play: 1 - we don't want to be blamed if the bet loses; 2 - we don't like the idea of someone leeching off our hard work and reaping the benefits without any effort; 3 - we want to do better than others (get higher in the social hierarchy), helping others to get wealthier kind of negates that.

]This is childish behavior from this person, because there is no way that someone reprinting his betting slip will reduce his winning probability when it comes to gambling. Sometimes people bring in their superstitious beliefs into gambling and bring in some rules with the hopes of winning big in gambling but such things doesn't really work in gambling.
