Guys, what do you need to see bitcoin is under attack?
The core devs changed the definition of bitcoin just before the current mass attack of spam started:
https://youtu.be/ON8gnCYjd7g

Shortly before the current wave of spam started 2 years ago, the definition of bitcoin was changed and all mentions of money were removed.

Here you can read the "What is Bitcoin?" Q&A on Feb 1st 2022:
https://web.archive.org/web/20220201223827/https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin#what-is-bitcoin

And here you can see it was changed to "What is bitcoin core?" and all mentions of money were removed.

3 months later a massive spam attack started. And today 30% of the chain is filled with spam and garbage.

A year ago when someone tried to propose a filter to get rid of ordinals, it was dismisses as "too controversial" but core never did the same when is was suggested to double the size of op_return data. Instead they blew it wide open to 1250x.

Please guys, wake up, join the fight, run a Knots node:

Your topic title is misleading. They removed the "what is Bitcoin" section and replaced it with "what is Bitcoin Core " that doesn't mean they changed the definition of Bitcoin. On bitcoincore home page, Bitcoin is still defined as a new kind of money.

I'll leave link to PR that update the README.md, so other reader can make their own conclusion.

I looked all over their website. Nowhere was I able to find any mention of bitcoin as money.
