Bitcoin to me is a currency and as well as an investment asset class, but some do consider the investment aspect of it more than seeing it as a currency since there are still existence of fiat currency, people prefer to use fiat currency than they prefer using Bitcoin for transactional purposes due to its cost transaction.

Lately I have been thinking……..what do people nowadays consider bitcoin to be: as a digital asset for storing value and investment or as a currency which was the initial purpose of its creation.

I did a bit research and found out that the perception of bitcoin vary among different individuals.some consider bitcoin as an investment asset, other consider it as a currency and some people consider it as a revolutionary financial tool.
The majority of people consider bitcoin as an investment asset and they Hodl their coins for a long run. The other who consider it a currency keep it for their transactions and some business also accept Bitcoin as a means of payment.

Open thread: What is your type of perception about bitcoin; do you consider it as a currency or as an investment asset or both?
Even if Bitcoin is not actually considered a currency, you can still consider it as an attractive digital investment asset. Since Bitcoin is a digital currency, it cannot be touched, but you can use it to make investments and transactions and keep it as a future asset. Although transactions through it have not yet become that common, Bitcoin is currently one of the central attractions of many large companies in the world, including ordinary people. Despite being a crypto currency, the rate at which its demand and use is increasing among people is truly commendable. So even if you do not consider it as a currency, you can still count it as a fair means of future investment.

We didn't come a full circle yet where people would choose BTC or crypto in general instead of fiat.

But that day will surely come.

Because Fiat is still the main thing and regulations make Fiat stronger,
like in my country, Bitcoin is only used as a commodity tool and will not be able to replace Fiat for legitimate payments.

Although Bitcoin is only an investment aspect, it also provides quite good profits.
Even taking advantage of the price fluctuations of Bitcoin and altcoins makes more profit with the note that you can trade and read the price movements of the crypto market.

So Bitcoin still has a good place, even though it doesn't completely replace Fiat,
so it's a long-term digital investment that's even close to the equivalent of gold.

Bitcoin is a decentralized currency or a digital currency that would not be printed out in paper like our traditional money, considering Bitcoin as a currency means that it would be used to purchase your everyday needs from the market and we all know that's not possible because it's not printed out like Fiat currency. I consider Bitcoin as an investment asset because that is what it was created for and never to be compared with Fiat currency or compete with Fiat currency in any way. Bitcoin can be used to purchase valuable things only to an extent but it's not a regular currency like Fiat.
