Don't fall for scams, be vigilant and report any suspicious activity that you notice. As we have people that're genuinely and willing to help you on the forum, so we have people that their intentions are to steal from you. Links being sent to you in DM shouldn't be clicked when they're unknown and the messages should be ignored. There are different ways of gaining control of people wallets and devices that we mightn't even know of therefore being vigilant is the only solution to help us out. Newbies are always the target because they can be easily convinced even when the scams are obvious. They get easily deceive because the messagers promise then outrageous money so that should be the watch out tactics.

Your advice is perfect for everyone but most of all for new people. It is sad but true that for every helpful person online there is someone trying to trick you. Never click on strange links sent in private messages as this is a common way to steal your information or put viruses on your devices. Scammers have many ways to get into your wallets and devices even some ways experienced users might not know so always watchful is best defense. New users are mostly targets because they are easily fooled by promises of huge money which is classic scammer trick so always be suspicious if something sounds too good to be true.

I think some of the major reasons why many people are beginning to join the crypto space is actually because of the want to make quick money. Although we all want money but the reason why most of us do not fall into the hands of scammers is actually because we are not desperate to make the profits we all seek for. Another reason why newbies fall to scam is because they don't have good knowledge of what they are actually dealing with.

That's one of the things scammers use in getting their victims, greed and desperation to make quick money, the scammer the OP talked about knows that he'll be wasting his time on old members and easily get reported for scam attempt so he targets newbies that are very vulnerable knowing fully well that most of them ain't here to learn about Bitcoin and other Cryptocurrencies but looking for ways and informations on how to make quick money unfortunately for him the person he tried to scam was wise enough to notice his message wasn't legit, infact the English is not well constructed enough that even a newbie would know it's a scam, it's good the OP brought it here so other newbies would take not of such messages.

Very good initiative Op, bringing this topic up on the board (Beginners & Help) allows beginners who have just joined the forum to see scam strategies like this because usually they rarely go to meta or other boards where the level of discussion requires a broad understanding. What @oletiteb did was very brave, but he forgot that a strategy like this is very easy to get caught and puts his account at risk.
I am sure, he (oletiteb) never stops with his strategy and there are probably many other accounts that can be used to do the same thing to other beginners. Always be careful and alert to this type of fraud, there is no free lunch that someone gives without expecting anything in return, hopefully every beginner can read this thread so as not to get trapped by tempting offers that end in regret.

Newbies are mostly the target of this people but don’t be surprised to see some old members here falling for scam like this when being tried. When it involves scam, everyone should take caution irrespective of account rank. Whenever you are being offered any help from strangers without asking for it, kindly reject the offer without hesitation unless you are willing to pay the afterwards price.

To make the scam more obvious, the scammer is trying to redirect their target to Telegram where scam has been the order of the day. After reporting such messages, they should also expose it so that others can be aware too.

Yeah you are correct even old members in this forum can as well fall victim of this kind of scam, the only thing left for us to do is to be very careful here in the forum and even outside the forum, I have seen a lot of people that has gone through being scammed and it is not an easy experience so everyone should be careful so as to avoid being scammed, those offers that looks good to be true please avoid them they usually comes or looks very good but afterward is the pain and scam.
Yeah I share this information so that others will be aware and be ready sharing scam information helps others from being scammed, there was someone that was sharing an information that he would have been scammed if not for the information he read online about same scam strategy they wanted to use on him, so let always share our experience.
