I think these three are the most common causes with reward sensitivity being the highest among all of them. The reason why I say this is because the reward center of the brain is usually associated with addicted and dependency, if you read about drug of abuse and other things that usually leads to addiction you’ll notice that it is the reward center of the brain that usually leads to addiction and since gambling deals a lot with rewards it increases the chance of dependency.

Escapism is a common mindset a lot of gamblers have that makes them addicted to gambling....trying to make gambling a way to cope with depression only leads to more depression...I have learnt not to use anything as am escape from stress because at the long run you would start becoming an addict..if you turn to gambling when you are down and emotional depressed it gradually turns to be a dependency situation
