It's not about supply of doctors. It's that they would need to actually be paid decently for their work, and when doctors get paid more in elsewhere, with better benefits, they rather just move instead. I know i would.
And honestly i wouldn't even trust a doctor that accepts lower salary, because there needs to be a good reason for that.

Job of a medical doctor is highly stressing, and in my country at least, they choose to work less even though they would make more with longer hours.

And now? More than half of them are unemployed. Not a bad job. No job. And at the same time, the same government says "we have a doctor shortage." So which one is true? How could there be too many doctors, and not enough doctors, at the same time? The answer is simple and it angered me when I got to understand the answer. They opened more medical schools but they did not create more jobs for the doctors to actually work and training after graduation.

It is better health practitioners are excess than in a shortage, because there may be National emergencies like another disease breakout that will require more medical personnel to control.

 If there are shortages of Jobs, I think it is still very much possible for these doctors will no jobs to fit into another area of the economy. They could learn some other skills and earn money. Also, the issue of no enough jobs for them may already be an issue that a framework to tackle it is already been developed.

Hey man, is this for real? Never imagined we'll have to live to see this day, doctors are being jobless? Man that's just so wrong!
In fact, we have exactly the opposite situation here! The public health sector is being neglected for so long here! We have shortage of literally everything that is needed to save a patient. From qualified doctors to basic medicines to reliable medical equipment, we lack most of these. It really saddens me! Being a doctor is a noble profession. If anyone who deserves respect, a fair salary, a good working conditions, a better opportunity, doctors are the ones most deserving.

I thought that they have a shortage of doctors, nurses and other health professionals. AFAIK, there's a massive shortage of doctors for most countries. If they can't take them, then other countries are the ones that shall take benefit from giving them jobs. While it's sad for these professionals, they might just take their offers that are under wage just for them not to vacant their time after being a professional. It happens globally that the trade they've trained for are underpaid and they have no option if they don't like to work offshore where it's a greener pasture for them.

They’ll still have to have initial capital or go into debt to accomplish this. Also will 10 doctors have equal shares on the pie? It will not work. To make a decision they will have to have the vote of 6 out of 10 every time and that will slow things down a lot. What they need is one majority shareholder and a few minority shareholders but then finding that majority shareholder is also a big problem as it would mean investing hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Some doctor groups accomplish this business model and make a killing indeed, I am not arguing that but it is not that easy. Trust is a big issue too. Doctors aren’t the most social creatures on earth. They are solo players of life mostly. Expecting 10 of them forming a group and acting in harmony is a bit of a pipe dream.

It's a strange paradox how the UK healthcare system suffers from a severe shortage of doctors, while at the same time new doctors or job seekers face unemployment or precarious employment!

I think there is a gap between the number of medical graduates and the available jobs in specialist training, and the reason, in my opinion, is that there is poor management of resources, a lack of government funding, or in employment policies.

Another possible reason is the existence of programs such as the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS) that allowed clinics to employ medical assistants and pharmacists instead of physicians.

This also happens in my country, the government keeps saying that they are short of doctors and need more of them as soon as possible, but when more doctors graduate, there are not so many hospitals available for these new graduates, even though the government claims that there are places where these doctors can be placed, but the area is remote and not many people want to go there, especially when the majority of these graduates are children of rich people, it makes them not interested in working in remote areas because of the lack of facilities, comfort of life, and limited career opportunities, this makes more graduates choose to be unemployed and look for vacancies in hospitals in urban areas, where it is very limited, compared to choosing to be placed in remote areas. this continues to be a protracted problem and has made many medical graduates choose to change professions instead of becoming doctors, which is what they should be.

I am not a doctor. But I know this feeling. I think many of us do. You follow the rules. You do what they told you. And then someone changes the game and say sorry no room for you. What did you do when you realized the path you used to trust was a dead end?

When my country had a similar situation, it was with construction workers. Everyone said that construction workers were needed, that construction was a profitable business that would always be. The overall university entrance exam scores were enormous because everyone wanted to be builders, and even many girls went there to get that education. By the time I graduated, the oversupply of builders had created unemployment in the country because lending rates had risen, and the construction industry was experiencing a crisis similar to the one described in the author's article. They were told: "Sorry, but we can only hire you as laborers. You'll sit in a cold pit with pipes, digging earth, and get paid pennies for it."

I agree, nobody gives you a job for free, you have to earn it, why does it matter if they are doctors. Look at how many unemployed people are there in the world and you will see that we have way too many and to think that they are doing this just for a job scares me even more.

Doctors can still find intern jobs at rural areas if they want to, but because they want to work at urban areas where the best medicine is being done, they fail to find jobs there. Go to some small town of 5k people, and you will find a job there but I bet these people who are "bigger than almighty" look at their jobs, will not want that. Doctors are quite annoying to me, because they think they are gods and for that reason, I think they need to realize they are not as special as they think they are.

Also, I would like to assume that while the government open the doors for foreign healthcare workers to come into the country, they also encouraged their citizens to study medicine and medical related courses to help address the issue. Now, they are out of school and no job.

A person must always think one step ahead. You can not trust everything what is said and try to build your future on that. If I was a student, and if it was said that right now we are in short of doctors, then I would at least make a small research to check if in 5-8 years, when I graduate, there still be demand in doctors. What is the point to think that you will get a job when you graduate in sector where everyone now rush to get a job. If you know that competition on one job or working place will huge, then why aim to get there?
