the time has come, and with version 0.1.1 of Bisq easy, it is now possible to conduct p2p Bitcoin trading completely decentralized and via the tor network
since the whole thing is based on Java, it was easy to integrate the app into android - meaning that all android devices will have access to the features of Bisq Easy... unfortunately, ios users will have to watch from the sideline
when running the app, the phone runs a p2p node via the fully integrated tor network (just like Bisq on the desktop)
further information, download files, and the official link to the Google Play Store can be found here: https://github.com/bisq-network/bisq-mobile/releases/anode_0.1.1

Bisq Easy version 0.1.1 is out, enabling fully decentralized Bitcoin trades over Tor. The Android app is available now and includes a built-in Tor node. iOS is not supported. You can find the download link on their GitHub page.

This kind of DEX would be preferred by most people to websites. I've not made use of them yet but their interface looks ok. It would be a nice addition for decentralization if they have options for more fiat currencies and not just the major currencies like the dollar.
Anyways I wasn't even expecting iOS to have it soon. Aside from the fact that almost literally everything connected to apple is centralised, I doubt they'll easily allow a DEX on their app store.

Looks pretty interesting.
How are you distributing the APK long-term, Play Store or GitHub-only, and what's the signing key fingerprint?

Does the embedded Tor support bridges and per-trade circuit isolation?

Bisq Easy is still in beta testing phase and should still be considered as experimental software. As they explained in their release notes, backing up and restoring wallets and profiles still doesn't work, and it's merely meant for buyers to test the mobile platform.

They will probably distribute the mobile app both via the Play Store and as .apks via GitHub. If the beta version is downloadable via the Play Store, I see no reason why the final product won't also be one day.

the new 0.2.1 version has been available for all android devices for several days.
this version fixes the 'out of memory' problem that affected earlier versions

you can find everything else, including the download files right there: https://github.com/bisq-network/bisq-mobile/releases/anode_0.2.1

This looks interesting but bisq still suffers from fairly bad liquidity. It's a good proof of concept and hopefully it grows further but at the moment it looks like it's in a bit of a winter (even when crypto isn't). I'm not sure what keeps it from having greater liquidity unless it's regulations/fear of them.

When I've used it in the past for tiny amounts it's felt very reliable but you have to keep the client on on desktop. Maybe with the addition of the mobile app it'll become easier for people to transact.

I am too curious to use BISQ for a very long time, but I still can't find a trader there since the country has almost zero volume. And this new update for Android might change that? Hopefully. Wink

I guess it's still early access, so I will wait for the actual one to install and see the trading opportunity.

Zero volume on my location, this sucks.

Isn't this the ultimate answer that we have all been looking for? I thought people cares more about decentralisation in this crypto space? This type of platform should be lagging due to the high numbers of users on the platform, it is no secret now that many people prefers to use centralised exchanges for everything, many don't give a f or two about privacy and decentralisation.
