According to the speeds alone I think they should be concerned.

"Final thoughts
Regardless of what moves Google makes, one thing is for certain: Google is making moves to becoming a best-in-class Internet provider and major threat to large telecom companies. For investors, this could eventually mean adding the value of a Verizon or AT&T to Google's market cap, and that's on top of the many growth segments this company has in play. Overall, Google looks incredibly well-positioned for the next decade as a rather safe, ambitious, and fast-growing juggernaut."

Yes they should. I actually want Google to expand and provide Fiber to more places.

Google Fiber is coming to a town 15 miles from where I live. So close, yet so very far away!

Hell yes they should be very afraid, they might have to cut prices now before they lose many customers, would be be nice if they compete with ebay also

Google doing what they do best, disrupting a corrupt market. More power to them. The prices ISPs charge are ridiculous compared to what little they do. Google knows that a fair price for 100meg service should be about $10. The moment fiber hits my town, I'm switching.

I think it's more about showing that it is time to give us better options then the 4 major controllers are giving

Let them control everything, if they offer better options than the competition, why not.
